Turbo Upgarde
W/e I dont feel like dealing with this right now, the question was about supporting mods. I find it funny that were all asking this question and it takes you(mia) forever to answer, instead you made all of us just wonder fantastic.

I was asking about supporting mods AS WELL as the turbo kit itself. Dont go getting smart when your not. Main thing thats sux is that its probs gonna end up costing more money to mod a stage 1 kit to get more power. Once you have to start modding the pipes, thats it right there alone it starts to get pricey b/c the install is gonna kill you. Your going to have to take off your whole turbo kit probably and replace all the original pipes.
This is coming from someone who wants to upgrade the kit without first understanding the mechanics of it. For one, you're going to have to custom fab your own wastegate setup, and two, you're going to try pushing that much power on a downpipe that will need to be customized to handle increased flow of the new turbo. It's a given that the hotside turbo piping as it stands is not enough to suport increased power levels within the capabilities of the t66-t70 turbo. This is why it's important to be patient and let turbonetics build a system that will support the properly sized turbo.
I don't care how many "supporting" mods you add to your setup, you're not going to push it beyond certain limits. Mods such as an upgraded fuel system, injectors, and EMS do not make power in themselves, they facilitate in tuning for more power within the limits of the turbo and kit itself.
I understand what your saying, so thats why Im done arguing. R&D is important for sure, but my only problem is that it sux to have dig into my car AGAIN. Oh well, more money to give to turbonetics for new piping also. Wouldve been nice if they nailed it the first time, dont ya think?
They did nail it right the first time. IMO the TN Stage 1 is a great option for those wanting good power on a stock block or not looking for crazy power on a built block-and its the best looking FI kit out IMO. Trust me I know how you feel about having to make a change later and just wanting it now, I myself went through that.
Yeah, there's nothing stopping you from dropping the stage 1 kit back on the built motor, then upgrading to stage 2 later. Sure, you won't have that power for a little while, but it will be MUCH cheaper and more effective than building your own kit. The stage 2 kit should be extremely cost effective, and is also easier to install than a TT kit.
yea lol Ive been there already haha. Should I go twin turbo and sell the single lol, way too much money wasted. Im gonna dread pulling the car apart AGAIN but w/e, as we speak the motors pulled apart b/c the cometic headgasket after like 2000 miles on my built motor failed. It was causing my car to overheat b/c I guess it was leaking from the heads. Oh well hopefully after this, Ill finally be able to tune the car and max out that turbo haha.

Hey thanks for all of the info. I talked to Turbonetics yesterday not thing will be released till SEMA HP#, piping and compatability ect..... But we will have to wait and see, it seems that this will be the best avenue for people with the stage one already. But to wait and see is what is killing a lot of use. I hope it will all be worth the wait. 500-600 hp Turbonetics ST on G's and Z's i guess we will have to wait for another couple of weeks. Thx again for all the help but I am going to stick with the Turbonetics for now. THX again.
Just as a quick aside lemansz20 I do my best to update this board when I can and answer questions. Feel free to ask every other Turbonetics owner here that question. I don't see why I need to be singled out for not responding the instant you post something. In case you don't know I have an engineering job during the day and a family at home. If I'm not right on top of the answers forgive me but you can always call as Gump did. All that being said you have the update from the mouth of Turbonetics. SEMA it is. MI35th you'll be happy to know they have a yellow 35th aniiv. Z at the shop right now that is running just peachy so far

This waiting game never gets any easier. But luckily the Winter will kicks in and the car is in storage so it's not that bad for me. Next year will be a whole different ball game for me. Turbonetic Stage 2 here i come!!!
Yea trust me I didnt know did japtrix had already bought it, OH well. They spoke with cometic and they told japtrix that theyll be sending a thicker stronger one to them under warranty. I hope thats true b/c I want my car back and b/c of them japtrix hasnt been able to put the motor back together.BTW Im running my wastegate to the atmosphere and I want to buy a better one. ANy suggestions from mia, alberto or taurran?????????? guys you know of anythign you could suggest????

Again, I'd recommend just waiting until turbonetics releases stage 2 info.
As far as headgaskets, I think both the aftermarket options look good, but the HKS gasket has an advantage or two over the Cometic offering.
Keep the Evolution wg for the stage 1, no need to upgarde-dump it to atmosphere if you want. +1 on HKS > Cometic HG, I myself am running an HKS hg, mainly because they have o-rings around the cylinders, they are both the same thickness.
lol I wouldve gotten the hks had I known about it, but I let japtrix handle that part as I was choosing motor options. Figures the little thing ended up being a big thing, whats done is done. I never got the over boost pipe, if thats what your referring too. I love this wait, weve got about a month or so right??

Motor builds with the stage 2 turbonetics. What are the the egine builds going to be, just a fully built long block or short block sleenved or un-sleeved?
The minimum recommended from Turbonetics for Stage 2 will be pistons and rods. Thats it. Cams are a good idea while the motor is opened but not required. As for a new wastegate the Stage 2 kit may end up coming with the new redesigned Racegate (Mark 2 or version 2 don't know the final name yet). The current Racegate should handle the power but Turbonetics has already re-designed the Racegate for even better flow and response so its likely to make its appearance in that kit as well. Oh yeah and it bolts right up to the Evolution flange if that tells you anything

I cant wait it has been a long time! How much power is the 35th putting down?
Is it the stg 1 or 1.5 on the 35th?
I am very interested in any info you have on that car!
