Is there a particular reason you didn't want to go with the 100mm bore when doing the sleeves?

Yes we put the bumper in the back of the Lightning we trailered it with. I didnt go with the 100mm sleeves (3.8L) because of the 30% or so, reduction in headgasket mating surface. Again-I wasnt going for HUGE power, I just wanted something reliable and fast, so why do a 3.8L when it may be more prone to failure later-I dont want to find out. My set-up is more than solid and not even working at these power levels. Sharif correct me if Im wrong but the 750cc injectors were at 67% duty cycle or so, I still have room for more with a beter fuel system.

*I'm going out to shoot some vids in a few, some easy flyby's so you can hear the APS exhaust, and a WOT or two so you can hear the dumps...later tonight.

Alberto and I discussed it. I am running the 100mm Darton block, and in retrospect, I would have probably stuck to 96mm. 100mm bore does give you a handful more whp, but it also reduces headgasket seating area. IMHO, a better approach, is to run more boost, rather than do a drastic overbore. And until I have tested my 100mm block out thoroughly, I wont recommend it 100% to a customer just yet....especially to someone like Alberto, that hits the speed limiter on the way home from my shop!!

I was just wondering. Not like I'll ever be able to afford either one

I really need to stop coming to this forum. Everytime I convince myself to trade the Z for something more practical, like a nice 4x4 Titan or something, then I come in here and read all about someones awesome numbers and how happy they are, and my thinking gets all twisted, lol. I wish my FI experience was half as good as most others on here

Back on topic....congrads Alberto!

In regards to our break in process...we've found this strategy works well for us. Other shops may have other opinions, and thats fine. 100-150miles of moderate driving (1-2psi boost max), and gradually higher shift points. Change out the dino oil for new dino oil, and then straight to the dyno. I told Alberto to switch to a high quality synthetic, like Motul, after 1500-2000 miles...give or take a few.
Hey sharif where can I get this oil? or should I just order it from you? its about time to change mine

We have them listed here: http://www.forgedperformance.com/store/home.php?cat=278

If you have an oil pan spacer, or upgraded oil pan, order one 5L bottle, and one 1L bottle. Otherwise, just get a 5L bottle.

Big time congratulations Alberto. Glad to see you back in the saddle. I think I'll just keep my Viper the he!! away from that beast. .

BTW, GREAT write-up on the build...very coherent and fluid.

Anyway, looking forward to what the 1/4 mile brings with your new setup.

Yeah, we are running an AAM return fuel system with 750cc injectors. The fuel pressure set at a pretty low 40-42psi, to help with warm start.

Alberto, the UTEC duty cycle values are a bit buggy. Based on my calculations of the max IPW's, the duty cyles are about 82% at redline...with the low fuel pressure we are using. Nice and safe. You can squeeze a lot more fuel out of the 750cc injectors, by running 50-60psi of fuel pressure, but it was not needed for this setup.

This had to be the world's best kept secret. And Jeremy, thanks again for coming through at the last minute with that clutch.

Sweet that you've got your car back. What 750cc injectors are you using (I'm not familiar with the AAM fuel system, and if they're included in the AAM system).

Also, do you have the dynojet run files? If not, what were the uncorrected dynojet numbers? Uncorrected DJ numbers compared to uncorrected DD numbers would be the most valid comparison between the two imho . My car was 20whp higher with STD correction than uncorrected numbers, in actually quite modest weather conditions even. STD correction almost always serve to inflate the numbers, and thus makes the difference between DJ and DD numbers seem more drastic than it really is.

RC Engineering Injectors, no injectors are included with AAM system. Uncorrected was 517whp low boost-dont recall TQ, high boost was 567whp...we did STD vs STD 5th gear pull on both dyno's...

Oh I see. I didn't know that the DD had STD correction available, I've never been on or around one of those, just DJ, Mustang and dynapack. Looks like your conditions were closer to standard anyways so it wasn't as big a deal as it was on my dyno.

Must be nice to have the car back, I know how it feels to be without your fun car for a long time.
