Default engine building questions

I'm looking to buy the JWT TT kit, and running in the range of 500-550 whp. What kind of upgraded internals would i need to run that type of power. Would l19 head studs, forged pistons and rods be sufficient? Also what compression pistons would you recommend. Thanks.

u may also look into getting a return fuel system and bigger injectors for that. Go with high CR like 9.0:1.

The standard JWT TT kit is only good for about 500whp...if you are greedy you'll need the BB700s.

alrite so here' what i'm thinkin bout on my build. let me know if this will be enough to sustain 550whp and not blow my motor or other parts.

Arias Extreme Duty Piston Set 9.0 plus.020 overbore
Pauter Forged Rod Set VQ35 350Z/G35
AAM Billet Aluminum Oil Pan Spacer
AAM Oil Return Line kit for Oil Pan Spacer
ARP L19 Extreme Duty Head Studs VQ35
Cosworth Engineering Extreme Duty Head Gasket ( which mm to get? )
AAM MaxFlow Stage II Fuel System
ATS Twin Disc Carbon Clutch w/1350kg Pressure Plate

NOW disregarding turbo kits..... would the above stated mods keep my engine alive at power levels of 550whp. I'm still researching on which kit to get, but i know that i will be purchasing the above items for sure when i do choose my turbo kit. If jwt can't make 500whp, then i'll probably move onto the Greddy TT or just wait and see what the turbonetics stage 2 kit looks like.

wat u think

The JWT kit will produce 520whp at peak efficiency, and you can probably squeeze 550whp out of it. This is according to Jim Wolf himself. If that is your goal, this is a great kit.

As mentioned, for higher boost, it would be best to get a complete return fuel system, and something like a UTEC or FCON for more precise tuning.

In regards to engine internals, a forged shortblock is all your really need. http://www.forgedperformance.com/sto...cat=277&page=1
In addition, i would suggest the following:
ARP L19 Head Studs
HKS Metal Headgasket
CJM Return Fuel System
UTEC and pressure sensor for tuning
ATS/Across Twin Disc Carbon Clutch/Flywheel
RC 650cc Injectors

Hope this helps.

Do not forget to put into the equation what it requires to put the extra power to the ground. clutch, axles etc. should be considered. Whoever is doing the build for you should be able to help you with this.

As Sharif suggests, you will also need a UTEC (or similar management system) along with appropriate gauges and an exhaust system (with or without test pipes depending on your tastes)...
