Wow....unbelievable. You are extremely lucky that none of those rods snapped. At least your block is good!

Wonder how many guys on stock blocks have rods that look similar but don't know it yet, and think everything is peachy....

If the rods get bent like that without detonation.. then maybe someone should do some research and maybe find out what the most natural form of the rod should be in a V engine.. maybe bending the other way around a little when forged could = more strength?

WOW.. i was thinking the same thing myself.

Seriously, those rods where on the verge of giving up. Those pics provide a huge amount of insight into the stock VQ motor. IMO the boosted VQ community owes HoldThisForME a good amount of thanks.

If you could, take some good solid shots of the bearings, piston skirts, and cylinder walls?

I have seen rods bend worse than that to the point where the piston skirt was contacting the crank shaft on the down stroke(very loud knock)...However I have never seen all 6 rods bend!!! Holy SHIET!!!

That's insane. The fact that the rods held up to so much abuse is amazing. Just goes to show that building is really the only choice when diving into F/I at 450+whp
