Default JWT TT and Exhaust

I am getting the JWT TT kit. It will be installed on the 16th of October. I currently have the HKS Dual Ti exhaust and Strup Test Pipes. The diameter of the HKS is 60mm = 2.36" and I am not positive if this exhaust set up is going to be to restrictive. My ultimate plan is to build the engine and be around 500 whp at the max and in the mean time be right at the 400whp mark. I am unsure if I should go with a 3" exhaust such as APS, AAM or SVRTech and other test pipes. What is reccommended?

sure 3" will help a lot but, if you plan on have a built motor you can just turn the boost up, and keep the noise down a bit, to get 500hp 3" is not mandatory, but recomemded.
If you don't care about a loud exhaust it will definety be easier to make 500with the 3". Its all about comprimise...and if you want a daily driver

2.5-2.75 dual will be perfect. There are a bunch of exhausts inthat range. I suggest IMsolutions and EVOTT, APS

A 3" will help out regardless if you are going for 400hp or higher. Its less restriction on the turbos. I'll give you a good example come the 20th of this month. If you have the $$$$ get one if you don't what you have will do.

You should be able to hit your goals with the HKS exhaust... The AAM or any dual 3" with TP's will be pretty loud, plus you will have better ground clearence with the HKS setup...

^ what he said, but im not too fond of the HKS sound, especially with a turbo setup. JWT turbos are small and spool fast anyway.

I have never heard the HKS with turbos, i am not to fond of the HKS w/ test pipes. It rasps more then what I had heard on the forum. I just don't want to wasn't anymore money on exhaust and get the one that will be good with my final goal. If i could hit 500 in the end with a build motor and 2.5" exhaust that would be the route i go

HKS sounds good with Test Pipes. We did this on Eagle1's car featured in Sports Compact, C16, and Nissan Sport Mags.

As for 500, you can easily reach 500 if you Upgrade to the larger BB700 turbos.

If you wish to PM me, you can. I had Stillen Exhaust with over 700 WHP with these turbos and test pipes.

Good-luck.

The two snails will kill the rasp and lower your overall exhaust note by a lot... It will be a little loud at start up... When it warms up it should sound good. @ WOT it may be a little loud not too bad though...

PM is realeasing a motor program... Mine should be going in this winter...

Get the SVRTech 3" and then you won't have to worry about test pipes. The SVRTechs have integrated TPs and go from the turbo back. It also has 4 O2 bungs welded in it, two for your O2 sensors, one for a Wideband gauge, and one for whatever else you want. Its also a true 3" and never goes below 3". Most other 3" exhaust taper down a little in size at some point in the system.

FYI, I had the Injen SES on my car when it was first turboed. Just swapping to the SVRTech and re-tuning it gained 20+whp and 72wtq! We all (even Jim Wolf) thought it would gain a couple horses, but lose some torque, but the X-Pipe and design of the system proved us all completely wrong. The sound is also my favorite out there for the turboed Zs.

I think it goes up to 3.5" not down. At least that was my understanding when talking to Scott @ SVRTech. Yeah he still makes them, but he is busy with his real job .
