Can I scrap the vortech fuel system (which seems shoddy to me) and just put a bigger in tank pump in with the stock lines? Is fuel pressure with a bigger pump and 440cc injectors enough to support 400whp? Also, will I need a reflash to make the injectors work right or can it be tuned to work using the SS box? Lots of questions sorry.
If you put in 440s and an intake walbro 255lph hp pump, you can do around 400rwhp or so. Maybe a little less since you wont have a 1:1 regulator, so maybe 380 or something if you want to play it really safe.

you will need to modify the swirl pot jet in the fuel canister once you put in the intake upgrade to keep pressure at idle in check.

a complete retune of the SS box will be mandatory after you change ANYTHING related to your system.

Not to speak for phunk, but I believe that is what he's talking about. I think turbonetics also has you drill a hole in the walbro. You need to be careful not to drill all the way through, or you will have issues. I recently put in the 3.12 pulley for vortech with a walbro and 380cc injectors and was running out of fuel very early. We calculated that even 440cc injectors would cause me to be at the limit so we are putting in 550cc injectors. Once the new injectors have been scaled, the car will go on the dyno for more tuning and I will have numbers up shortly.

I have had no problems with A/F with the walbro and 440inj's.. The problem I am concerned about is a fuel press of around 80 psi at idle and slightly less during normal driving and an initial drop off at wot and going up to 90 psi when the FMU/AUX pump comes on.....I haven't made the mod called out in the t'netics instructions yet..

stock fuel system + walboro 255 + rc 440's = we ran out of injector at 9.5psi. We dialed back to 8.5-9psi and the car is currently at 450whp.

Last I know, Turbonetics was telling people to completely remove the swirl pot jet. This is not a good move, and it does not serve a positive purpose. Hopefully they updated their instructions by now. All you have to do is open up the orifice of the jet a little bit. Removing it all together will take away a lot of the function of the canister and potentially cause lean issues under full throttle and lower tank levels.

Also, Turbonetics was telling people to punch holes in the bottom of the can. I am not sure if they took this out of the instructions yet or not, but this also is a bad idea and not needed at all. This, like the issue above, is that it will cause the pump to starve under high G's at low gas tank levels because it is eliminated the surge cans function.

A surge can with a hole in it cannot be a surge can, its just a poor baffle that will not function well at all.
