I will end up either a TN stage 1.5 ST on stock motor at 9.5 psi with my 3.9FD or a Greddy TT modded with Fuel return, 3"Forged DPs, APS 3",etc , & Built motor.

Z is paid for... but my dilema is to have a DP on a house or a 550whp Z and a year living with the parents or paying rent at a crappy apt and leaving the Z in the garage at the parents and driving my beater.

Buy the House, a no brainer. Finish the car later and be happy that it's parked in your garage.

I've got a Turbonetics ST kit. Lately I've been leaning toward leaving the motor stock and just going with the 1.5 kit with a conservative custom tune. I'd like to focus on spending money on other things (or saving it) and only want to spend the money on a built motor if I really have to. I guess time will tell.

I have a PE TT sitting in my closet, just can't afford to have her installed the way I want it (yet).
>built block
>water lines
>boost controller
>fuel return system
>3" dual exhaust
>UTEC
>clutch/flywheel

i totally agree, i do not want to comprimise my handling too much for high hp that i will not ultilize everyday. My Z is my daily driven. I do a lot more turns than going straight.

My options I think will be doing a normal short block build, sell the vortech and buy a TT
or
upgrade the vortech to a T-trim blower, and put the rest of the money into building up the engine even more with ferrea valves and dartons sleeves bored out to 3.8 liters

I'm pretty confident that 500-550whp and 430-480tq is possible with a T-trim blower, built 3.8 liter bored engine with ported heads, 10:1 CR, race gas and water injection, 268 cams and reving to around 7500 with ferrea valves. That's about as far as I think I'd want to take it. Any more power and it'd time to consider trading off handling which I refuse to do with this car

a lot of people are going to ask this,

why would you want to switch from the greddy to the vortech?

It seems that the ST kit is the way to go for F/I reliability on stock internals. This is the kit I will buy..........one day

not that the ST kits are bad or anything but, ok

I swear there's someone new here every 2-3 weeks posting about their blown up engine with a turbo kit...
