OK so what Im gathering from everyone so far is that unless 93 oct is atainable get the utec, but if 93 oct is at your disposle get the kit install it and have fun.
I got technosquare to reflash my ecu to work with my 440cc injectors. On the back it said that to use 92 or higher. So i just put in some octane booster since i live in ca. But nextime i fill up im gonna add two gallons of 100 octane per tank. So far so good.
What the hell is all this rediculous talk about higher octane will make you run rich?
The reflash will work fine on 93 octane, the only difference is that it will be even less prone to detonation at high heat and heavy driving conditions. You might gain a couple whp by running it but don't expect anything. The reflash was designed to run 91, but 93 is just an added bonus. Both 91 and 93 octane work absolutely fine on the reflash. Note I did not say "safe". No form of FI on a stock motor is "safe".
I would suggest getting the kit, being positive the kit is installed right including the modification of the fuel pump assy/fpr, and hitting the dyno. If you have any further issues at that point then you might consider a 1.5 upgrade as it should be available soon. You shouldn't have any issues as long as the kit is installed properly.
And, on a final note, if you want boost control, get a GD boost controller!
Edit - fixed typos.

widerisbetter....i went through your train of thoughts a couple of months ago and read up on this board as much as possible......i finally settled on the tn st....not into hp bragging, rather a reasonably reliable kit for my daily driver.....purchased a used tn kit off a 350z for my 04 6mt sedan...and yes, i know exacatly what it takes to make it work on the sedan.....it has been done....thank you Quadcam for leading the way for us 4doors....
i have all the miscl stuff....oil pan spacer, colder plugs, walbro and even a water/meth setup for added safety.......i've read through the install instructions a few times and i think i can do this in two leisurely days.....
and besides........the guys on this forumn are great.....i've seen them assist on installs when guys run into a snag during and after an install.......there's even a website for tn turbo owners who can help too...........
goodluck...
