If the sound is coming from under the plenum and increases in frequency when revving as opposed to just getting louder it sure sounds like rod knock to me.

Ok I have a sound clip, and right around 5-8 seconds, you can hear it really loud and really good. When I was recording this, I had the camera RIGHT NEXT TO the front of the engine, driver side, closer to the top. I have no idea how to upload a vid on here, anyone want me to send them the file in email and you post it???

you could upload it onto putfile, or photobucket for free.

Man that sucks dude I'm sorry for your bad luck, I don't know whats wrong but it seems like your block may need to come out. I wouldn't drive it or start it anymore, IMO you should flatbed it and get the motor checked out.

What kind of oil did your have in there and what was your initial oil break in process? Even though it's after the fact maybe we can get some info to help save someone else's block in the future.

ok thats with photo bucket, just click the image that seems to run alot faster then putfile. I use royal purple, its just sitting at my house. I hope mike can come after work and take a peak and give me an idea of what he thinks it is. I turned it on a little while ago again, and its just idling like theirs nothing wrong. Wouldnt the car be shaking and not idling correctly if a rod or piston was damaged?????

unscrew the oil filler cap while the car is running. check to see how much smoke comes out. it is normal to have a little, but a good amount will indicate if you possibly have cracked ring lands on a piston.

I broke the ring lands on my Vortech'd cobra and I realized something wasn't right because I had a good amount of smoke coming out of the valve cover breathers.

Should have reved it a bit its hard to pin down at idle. If its that low whine sound its not rod knock. If its internal my bet is a ringland also

Its the sound the EXACTLY 5-6 seconds into the vid, you hear it loud and clear. Ill take the oil cap off tonite, and start it and see if smoke comes out. How long do i have to wait b4 the smoke comes out?????

Japtrix in like west palm did all the work. Awesome guys, but im just wondering what the hell happened to my car. Theirs a guy thats friends with member on these boards that owns and shop and says to pass by on monday. Hopefully he'll be able to shed some light on the situation, b/c I dont want to drive to japtrix with this problem. It cant be a belt, I would of noticed it, but you guys understand what Im saying, right? It just doesnt sound like a rod, at all.

To me that sounds like a bearing or something metal thats at a constant speed not being lubricated. Def doesn't sound like a bearing or a rod. Both of them have more of a knock sound to them. Good luck finding the sound/problem.
