Nope... I'm going to be different. The Garrett GT and the BorgWarner turbo's are $1200 dollars.

Why wait.. I need power NOW!!! Well not really... I have to pull the turbo out of my car anyway so I might as well replace it now with something appropriate.

just remember, the borg warner prolly has a different turbine inlet/outlet flange, and will position the comp outlet/inlet differently, and if you go with a t4 frame garret GT you'll need to modify the uppipe and again prolly the downpipe.

Or you can be patient and not have to hae all that custom work done....which will delay your setup even longer.

Hey Mike..... How much does Turbonetics pay you to promote their products here? Any chance of me getting the same deal?

if TN paid me to promote their products, I'd have quite a bit more than just stage 1 by now, doncha think? lol

seriously, the points I brought up are what you're going to be looking at. I've done the custom turbo thing 3 times on other cars. the custom work isn't worth the headaches.

I am really hoping the stage 2 upgrade (NO unichip, No injectors, NO BS) comes in under $2000. I have a bad feeling that it won't though.

Anyone have any ideas what parts are changed? GT-K turbo, new uppipe (i assume), what else?

Garrett has a GT3582R which has a T3 flange, and a 4 bolt housing which will flow some big #'s.

Actually the mass flow of the GT3582 is LESS then the flow of a 62-1 compressor. Just as an FYI the 62-1 compressor could EASILY fit into your current compressor housing....

I still think you're going to come into downpipe bolt up issues which will require modification and prolly compressor inlet/outlet issues.

MSRP on a GT-K 650 is $2499. Thats MSRP. I have yet to see a dealer set it for that.

Looks like $1600 MSRP for the GT3582 with an internal gate, no shroud porting, no ceramic coated turbine housing, unpolished. And the dealers all seem to sell for very close to MSRP so best price I've found is $1400. Altough that unit may not even have sufficient air flow on the turbine side for this application...

You mean 62-1? A 62-1 / Tangential T4 P trim .96 A/R is $1660 MSRP. Depending on the dealer you should be able to find that for around $1400-1500. Thats polished compressor housing, T4 turbine, turbine housing in any config you want. Flow for 65 lb/min on the compressor.

I don't remember hearing anything about an intercooler upgrade...and I also remember reading that the evolution wastegate will bolt up to the new piping.
