Default Smoke everywhere.

So I'm dropping my wife off to pick up something and my idle starts acting funny going from 14.9-17.0 and the car starts to act like it's going to die but this isn't constant (I'm parked) I turn the car off and start it up again and the A/F goes back to 14.9 ish all is good. I return home a few minutes later and park the car in the garage and go to check things out, I pop the hood all seems well, well I decide to take the oil cap off and the garage fills with white smoke...lol...Is that normal? There is no oil leaking anywhere. Was it because I decided to remove the vacume? I don't know I've never had a idle problem before and its set to 1100. I know I put octane boost in, the NOS one last gas cycle but all that gas has been used up and I'm on tank number 2. I may be worried over nothing but decided to post and see if anyone knows whats up.

There is no sounds of any kind, just the smoke that one time and the idle issue.

Theres some oil collected on the plenum bolts as if oil was in the plenum and seeped out the bolts, but I dont know if thats new or not. I'm gonna wait till the car cools off and play doctor..but if oil is in there...how did it get there?

Was there any brownish residue under your oil cap? Also check the color of the coolant when the car cools down. You might have blow a head gasket.

Smoke? Sounds like a cracked piston or ringland!

agreed. was all this smoke coming out of the oil filler cap? if so, very likely a broken piston.

wow thats crazy...I hardly ever boost like ever..there was no smoke at all untill I opened the cap...when I opened the cap it was like opening a christams present and it all hits you at once.

But I couldnt tell where the smoke was coming from cause it was like being hit with a bomb..I was ready to don my gas mask...lol

No on the detonation and coolant is still green. It's too late tonight to remove the intake, Plenum and check the plugs so thats tomorrow. I will start the car in a little bit...

Odd thing is I hardly ever boost cause the car goes 2 miles to work and 2 miles home. EGT never got too hot and A/F under boost was always 11-1. Change oil all the time check every damn thing. Never even tracked the car. Oh well we shall see I guess.

Started the car again and it was running ok. Removed the oil cap and no smoke came out like last time so it was either a coincidence or when I did that it burned the oil caught in the system somewhere. Maybe I'm just reaching for solutions, guess I wont know until tomorrow. Heck for all I know since the car cooled off some damn piece of metal wasn't expanded as much as it was before so uh yea...lol

**OFF TOPIC**

Just had a question for the OP. I see in your sig you have the 3.9 FD. Was their any significant reason for having that mod although you're F/I? Just don't think I've seen anyone F/I guys with the 3.9 gears before.

FYI, dont put that NOS octand booster in your car. It contain MMT which will f*ck up you O2 sensor and may be your cat. in later. If you wanna boost up octane, you better use a gallon of Tolene or Xylene...it's much safer.

I only only ever used it once, 2 weeks before these issues but I burned through that tank of gas and refilled to 1/2 tank.

I did not read everything, but did you say that you removed the vaccume from the PCV valve? Sounds like a problem that would be caused from that.

You posted a thread a little while back about the smoking on the highway? You think this may be realated... I'll try to dig up the post so every one doesnt have to use the search feature.
