I say that you go with the head work and a nice HKS ring stopper head gasket as that will give you the added safety you need in order to get to 600whp. Plus maybe some 1/2" or L19 head studs could be in order.

LOL... Sleeves in your setup don't make too much sense IMO. Sounds like you've already homed in on this. Going for 600+whp - then it's a different story.

Just my

What the diff with the GTM heads? that sounds like it would be more expensive..

i dont know what you are paying and i dont want to say what i am paying on the forum.
the heads i am getting are as follows.
GT Motorsports Turbo Cams
GT Motorsports Valve Springs, Retainers, and Shims
5 angle Valve job.
a port and pollish was a lot more and i was told that it didnt make that much of a difference for my power goals.

Neither. For 600whp (not run on this map 100% of the time), you dont need sleeves or headwork. Just need a set of cams and your good to go, save yourself the $$$$

Edit-Ive noticed from cars coming out of Sharif's shop some, not all of the builds with port/polish workmake about 10-20whp more at the same boost level over my car. Some with headwork made the exact same power with the same set-up or less! Of course every car is different, and Im not saying headwork doesnt "work" but in your case cams/valvetrain and your good to go--save yourself the $4000+ a$$ raping man. Not worth it to me....and I in now way regret not doing P&P work with my car.

/agree

With that kind of budget, you should just be pushing for mid 500's with a built bottom end and cams. Anywhere higher than that and you're looking at a lot of extra cash as you'll have to go with a carbon clutch and other drivetrain mods to support the headwork and/or sleeved block. The 550-600whp area is yet another huge hurdle in cost.

If there was an option for a simple built bottom end on your poll I would have picked that.

I said it wasnt worth it IMO, especially for the "mild" cam applications people run.
