You cannot go with boost that high, or higher, on the 530BB units from JWT, unless you have a built motor. Once you get to about 14psi you are reaching the flow limits and there is not really any point to go higher. You are pushing about 550-560rwhp and almost 690-700lb/ft of rw torque at that point. Mike B has a 350Z running that kind of power.

If you want more power and boost, you need to go to the 700BB units. Check out www.govrt.com for some examples of cars they have built and what power they are dyno'd at.

Remember, you want the most power you can get with the least boost....the most efficient set up. This is important for minimizing wear and stress, and maximizing reliability and longevity. If you throw too much boost you just generate your enemy...heat...with out material gains in power. A built motor typically goes with lower static compression pistons and then higher boost levels. this is more safe than going with a high compression piston and then trying to boost that, though it can result in anemic performance at low rpm levels compared to a stock NA car, until you attain boost thresh hold. So, all things being equal, if you can deliver 500 rwhp on 12lbs of boost, or 500 rwhp on 11 lbs of boost......you want the second car's set up! that extra one pound of boost is going to make you use more fuel, generate more heat, and create more stress and strain.

I will be using a built motor, I have been leaning towards the APS but increasing the boost has been a problem for some. The required upgraded actuators have failed and controling boost has not been easy from what I've read.
So Im considering alternatives, and the JWT

If you will be satisfied with 500rwhp, then the 530BB units from JWT are the answer.
The 700BB units on wastegate springs deliver about 500rwhp, and then it goes up from there. So, if for some wild reason you think that you are going to some day decide you want more than 500rwhp, and you are willing to drive around in a car that will not deliver less.....the 700BB is worth considering.
VRT has been the company developing those units as a G35/350z feature. But they insist that you have to upgrade a lot of other parts to your car to handle the power. Brakes, suspension etc. It is just nuts to bolt that TT on to a built motor and go out and drive it with the rest of the car stock condition. So you are talking serious money when you have a 700 BB in your mod mind.

The turbos are basically the same as the APS ones only smaller compressor housings on the JWT. Any actuator concerns you have on the APS setup will be the same as on the JWT setup.

If you have reservations about actuators/internal wastegates, you will need to run greddy or APS extreme.

If you are doing a built motor, I think the APS extreme kit or greddy are much better solutions than the JWT setup anyways

Well the only place this old man can beat you is on the keyboard, because it sure as heck is not on the race track!

The JWT BB-700 seems to be an awesome blower, silent, extremely responsive, no lag. I am generating 435 rwh on a 7.5 psi boost, mustang dyno. And, one of the reasons I picked JWT, is because it is local; case in point the BB700 are not an off the shelf item and I needed a exhaust flange pipe, I had them do a same day delivery. In a nutshell, apart from quality, service and convenience are extremely important to me.

Nice.

Did you lower the waste gate springs, we usually see them at 10-11?

Thanks

Michael
