the downfalls of the Z?
ok i want to boost my Z and all that good stuff, but i wanted to know first whatts the downfalls of the car? like the rsx has weak trannys and there nothing i can really do about that..
so a acouple ?
whats a good hp for the stock block
hows the tranny?
if i do decide to do a full engine rebuild can the trannys take it?
and whats the biggest problem ppl have on these cars when they turbo them?
another i read about it but whats the best engine management?
thanks in advance

the stock block can handle a good 400-450 imo but there are quite a bit that push it to 500hp ... depending on how hard you drive it and how much power you have, the tranny holds pretty well...some of the problems going turbo is the head lifts i think. which can be resolve with a better HG and L19 head studs or you can go with the 1/2'' studs...hks seems to be a very good ems if you want standalone but if you want a piggyback, i would say most people use the UTEC
you want the same speed as ur rsx give 20k to MRC and they'll hook you up :-D
Twin turbo, built motor, fuel system, computer wheels and tires.
Biggest downfall is usually the driver.

and i dont get why everyone is so utec happy. imo if you want to do it right then get an FCON.

600-700+ whp is doable with an INSANE amount of money. at 600+whp and depending on your driving habbits, it would be wise to put aside money for routine tranny replacements
GTMotorsports has gearsets you could put in the tranny if you go to the 600whp area. Alberto just blew his 3rd gear out on the track at 554whp. Also around that whp you'll be looking at replacing the axles.
I agree with sugarspunZ that if you drive hard than you'll want a built motor. I had to learn twice, and now I'm going with a built motor. I wasn't looking for more than 400whp but I drive my car car very hard, so I need it built.

hmm not sure what im going to do with this car yet, but i will know in the next couple days if im going to use this as a daily driver or go by another one and make this thing a beast, and yes i know how much $$ it would take to get 600hp or more, about the same or a lil more then i spent on my rsx, money isnt an issue at all
After being boosted now for 2 years on a stock motor (440rwhp) and login amost 5000 track miles (and 25,000 street miles) on it where I am beating the sh*t out of the car, the weak point is:
The LSD! Why oh why did Nissan have to supply a VLSD instead of a gear type? Probably since it was cheaper? Oh well, I actually didn't find the limit until I went with 305 R-Compound in the rear, if you drive it on the street - you will be just fine with the stock LSD since your tires will slip before it gives up.
