after that we did the vuc again like u said and it was showing 5 psi again !!

damn ?? what to do know after all this.

i chekd the plenum (upper, lower, mid, its not leaking. and just to make sure i changed all the plenum gasket. and still the same it is
I would triple check every coupler. The one on the compressor outlet can come loose sometimes. A while back my car started only making 3 PSI of boost and I put the car in the air and found that when I had removed my front bumper to replace my head lamps I somehow whacked the charge piping going to the intercooler inlet enough to get the coupler to come loose. the next time I pressurized it it came completely off. I sincerely think its just a massive boost leak somewhere. Whats your vacuum reading at idle?

Eh, if you have an electronic map sensor and a half way decent gauge it should be auto calibrating on start up. You should be at 20 in/hg. Any less and theres a leak somewhere. You could pressurize the intake tract to find the leak.

do you mean 6-7, or do ou mean .6-.7? .6-.7 is almost 0 vaccum!! even if it is 6-7, that is only about 2"Hg of vaccum! bad either way.

you should be able to hear that kind of leak.

also, that's a leak somewhere in the engine, not in the turbo piping. You need to be looking between the throttle body and the block.

The best to way quickly check for a boost leak is to hook up 2 boost gauges. 1 to the intake to monitor how much boost the engine is seeing and 1 between the turbocharger and wastegate too monitor how much boost is actually being produced...

If both boost gauges match, then no leak...

Is a set of vacuum/pressure gages accurate enough for this test ? Or maybe a good set of --say---0-20 PSI Glyserin filled pressure gages ?

I just check my BOV and the top port is plugged up.. bottom port is open on my BOV with nothing on it not even a fitting. i put my finger over it and i can feel the vaccum.. i am guessing this would cause a pretty big boost leak? well anyways i looked at the instructions and understand that there should be a fitting from that port going into the turbo somewhere.. can anyone point it out in a picture? is it at the bottom fo the turbo when the kit is installed? the only thing i see from the top is just an oil line.

the lower BOV port is supposed to be open and no its not a boost leak. The compressor has a fitting on the outlet which is hard to see with the kit installed going to the lower wastgate port.

hm.. so feeling vaccum on the lower BOV is fine? once the car builds boost does it automatically shut that opening?

also would'nt a vaccum leak there cause the ECU to have a hard time getting a stable idle?

that's not a vaccum leak. the BOV is located before the MAF. any air sucked in through the BOV gets metered at the MAF.

vaccum leaks occur after the throttle body.
