Default JWT TT w/ aftermarket BOV...

I replaced the stock bosch bypass w/ the turbosmart supersonic and kept it recirculating and there isn't much sound. Has anyone welded an HKS,Tial,,Greddy, etc> to it yet???

i was actually wondering the same question, there had been a poll started a while back by USN HM 350Z on what BOV to get but there was never an answer.

k3silk, where is your hks mounted? Not where the bosch bypass was at right?

I am waiting on a response from Jim Wolf regarding the best way to do this. There have been 2 cars so far with the HKS installed Mike Smart's which I believe Silk is rocking that kit and another.

MasterJ: I wasn't ignoring your PM, just been busy and trying to get more information on the best way to do this.

Arizzee,

How do you like the HKS F-Con iS? I was thinking of going this route as well. Who installed/tuned yours? I was thinking of going through GTM

Well, I can't tell it's there so it must be doing its job Mark @SGP Racing recommended it over the SS box. I'm a little vague on the details but I was told that the SS box is resolution and response challenged around 4500 rpms (MAF voltage maxed). The FCON iS has timing and fuel tables (16x16) so it works well with my 440cc injectors and the rising rate of the JWT FPU. Engine runs very smooth, no hesitations at any rpm, never any CELs or limp mode.

I'll be a customer of GTM if I upgrade the fuel system and up the boost. I guess the down side of the iS is the limited tuners and the cost.

TurboXS has a new really cool BOV that works for recirculating at low at volumes, and then vents to atmosphere at higher pressures!

it's very trick.....they had it at PRI. I don't think it is on their website, though.....give them a call.

of course, they aren't as loud......the air is getting pushed back into the intake tract......that's one of the reasons you can't hear it.

Also, open BOVs tend to be designed to maximize the noise they make. Look at the Greddy RS, for example,.....they added the air horn with specially designed holes to increase the whistle effect.

A recirc valve is much more efficient than a BOV.

IMO, most people do a T / TT system to gain power, not noise. If you want that (anoying after a while) BOV noise, then get a airhorn system and hook it up to your horn button on your steering wheel.....you can make that noise anytime you want.
With the recirc valve you can still hear the air bleed off, its just sounds better than a old school BOV. Just my .02 cents.

Recirc a turbosmart and you will not look back. You can screw around with it and get more sound out mine is pretty loud now.
