Default Internal wastegate solution

http://www.atpturbo.com/root/releases/release103105.htm

I got this link from the nice guys in the Vette forums. Has anyone seen or tried this solution before? Think this will bolt up to the APS TT w/ min fab work?

The APS turbos have the internal flapper cast into the exhaust housing. I don't see how you could bolt this up.

I hope you didnt take me saying "bolt it" on literally. This looks like it is designed to replace the wastegate flap on the stock Garrett turbos.

The GT3076R they use in the example is the same turbo used on the C6 APS TT kit i think. If this works for their kit, i bet its just a matter of space and the right part number for us.

You could have SGP weld the gate shut, and drill a hole in the manifold for an external gate bypass.

The APS flapper is external. Is should work but you need to either fab a new pipe and put new flanges on or cut the 4 bolt flange off and attach that to a new pipe between the ATP part and the APS downpipe. The ATP wastegate mount may have to be played with though

im confused, why would you want that? are you wanting to go external. i dont know if there is room, but you can also just have an external wastegate welded directly to the turbine housing, sounds wierd but its very effective. i think since there isnt much room, making the aps tt an external setup is gonna be a real pita, unless you it the way they did the extreme kit.

no, the aps flapper is built into the turbine housing, so this would do nothing for you. youd have 2 flappers. for my external setup i did exactly what sharif said, altho the single turbo is different because the puck is built into the downpipe, so we mounted it on the turbo, pulled it shut and welded the swing assembly shut.

Sure, on the single it's external but on the twins, it's internal. Enron Exec has the TT kit, as I do, so it would require some interesting fab work or maybe an entirely different exhaust housing to use the ATP wastegate.
