Default Turbonetics RWHP Numbers

All,

I was wondering what numbers people have out there that they have gotten / are getting for their respective TN ST kits, and if you are getting those numbers from a built motor or stock.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

396 whp, 400ft/lbs Dynojet, 5th gear uncorrected. Stock motor with 9psi, Crawford plenum, JIC 3" Exhaust, UTEC, AAM RFS. IIRC SAE corrected #'s were 388whp, 39X ft/lbs. May not have been the most powerful, but I loved it Hows your car coming along?

Nice numbers bro! I am getting the final tune done on Friday, and since I am built now, I figured I'd try to dial in somewhere in the vicinity of 13-14 lbs boost and see if I can attain 450rwhp. Not sure if I am dreaming, but that is the goal....

If I can hit that target I think I will have the highest TN ST that I am aware of.

If you're built it shouldn't be a problem with the 60-1 you got. We (Evo's) make 500+ to the wheels with that turbo... don't see why you can't (and have the added benefit of hella quicker boost then us).

Im positive you can hit 450whp on AAM's dynojet. Remind me, do you have cams? Most Ive seen out of a TN set-up is JETPILOT on Sharif's dyno (reads much lower than Dynojet) 14 or 15psi and he did in the 460's, could be 490ish on a DJ. Of course you know the TQ will fall off faster than you'd like but the car will be fast, Mike tuned my TN set-up very well. We def should meet up when its finally back on the road, I know its been a while for you.

The turbine/downpipe is a restriction in our applications. At or slightly after 14-15psi its nothing but hot air. Nobody has hit 500whp with a Stage 1 system yet-why do you think I sold mine Tony

Because 2 are better than one? Just a guess

What the hell is wrong with the downpipe? I can understand the turbine side, but it's a 3 incher, same that we run... what size wheels is the turbo running?

I dont want to turn this post into a "whats wrong with Stage 1" but IIRC the turbine is a T3 not a T4 like maybe the Evo guys would run. Im sure if Im wrong somebody will quickly step in and correct me ie. MIA Also, there was some debate on the actual size of the DP, I remember a while ago somebody posting a pic of the internal diameter being smaller than 3". Bottom line is nobody has hit that 500whp mark, but you never know OP may be the first...Laww do you have cams/headwork? What compression?

You will have one of the healthier TN set-ups. Good luck with it all, be sure to post results when you have them. You can finally join us at the crazy meets we have...

The turbo on the Stage 1 kit is a 60-1 compressor with a Stage V T3 turbine. The Stage V turbine wheel actually has a larger exducer then a O trim T4 wheel but the major diameter is about .2" smaller. Essentially its the largest T3 turbine you can find. The housing is .77 A/R tangential Kolkelen. With cams I would expect to see some really good power all the way across the band. Unforutnately all the built motor Stage 1 kits weren't using any kind of cams..

The problem is the 2.5 inch down pipe on a 3.5L engine. The tn kit would have no problem if it had a 3-3.5" downpipe. It was made for midrange power. I am aiming for topend power.

When you guys say downpipe are you refering to the pipe that goes to the exhaust, or the jumble of pipes that come from the manifolds to the turbine?

Just wondering because it seems that the restriction would be worse on the merge pipes and not the downpipe.....

Downpipe is the pipe that starts from the turbine housing and goes out to the rest of the exhaust piping.

Thanks for the info MIA. That turbo *SHOULD* be capable of over 500... there should be a way to fab up a true 3 inch downpipe. I wonder how hard it would be to switch the hotside to one that would except a 3 inch dp (like what we use).

The down pipe is the pipe that comes off of the back of the turbo. If it were possible to fit a 3.5 inch downpipe on the turbonetics kit i would conisder buying one. I am just going to use full 3inch for around 450 or so hp for now. When i want more i will make me a 4 inch exhaust.
