Default Tt

Ok, so I think im going to do it. I live in the Philadelphia area and want to find a place I can take my Z to and say to them "Put a TT system on the car and make it reliable."

I want atleast 375rwhp, and I dont want to worry everytime I put my foot through the floorboards.

My brother just got a Carrera 4 Turbo and I need to be able to smoke him consistantly.

Anyone have any suggestions for reputable performance shops in the area? And or bullet proof TT setup info? I really dont want to do any work myself, Ive worked on all my cars in the past and this time I just want someone else to do it.

Thanks All,

Matt

any shop that has a dyno and good feedback on tuning would do the job easily.

If you want a tt kit, I would get a greddy kit and have it tuned corservatively for longevity. Its probably one of the cheaper tt kits out there and can make huge power. What year turbo is the Porsche and what mods does it have? With just software and exhaust on an X50 packaged 996tt those things are making around 550hp and they're brutally fast at that.

I know that it is the X50 kit on the car, but is only pushing 430 at the crank on moderate boost. I want to be able to put out around 400 while daily driving then have a controller to push it up to close to 500 if I feel like dicking around. Once again at both points I dont want to worry about anything breaking. If I am going to do it I am going to do it right you know? How much should I worry about the tranny in the Z with this kinda power? should I just wait for it to break before getting a built trans or do it right along with everything else?

When I built up my 03 Cobra I made sure that was done right. You have to when youre pushing 675 at the crank through a KB.

Our tranny is ok. Right now there just arent alot of options unless you want to swap with a th350/400. Plenty of people are making 500+ on the stock tranny. As long as your not a parts murderer, you should be fine.

I have a feeling im going to have to do a trans swap. I am more like Alberto in terms of murdering parts. Thats why I said I want to spend whatever it takes to make this thing bullet proof. I am always about over building. Build a motor to run 1000hp and only run 500 out of it is my philosophy..

Well the cost for building a tranny is insanily high right now. Most people just have a backup ready since its cheaper to get a low milage tranny from a junkyard.

The other option is always a TH, but then your only going to go in a straight line really good, and the porche will eat you on the corners =)

EDIT I only mention this because my synchro's are going and have been looking at all the options out there right now. Its just easier/cheaper/faster to get a tranny from a yard and replace it.
