Install the Walbro pump as expected. Since its a tad taller compared to the stock unit, you will need to make minor modifications to get it to fit. Most people file off the 4 white tabs on the bottom. I have done that and also file away some material off the cap that holds the pump in so that it doesnt have to go as far on before it snaps into place. Make sure that whatever you do, you still get a good seal at the outlet nipple of the pump.
As for modifications to the assembly - you need at least open up the swirl jet orifice. That is the little yellow part on the bottom/outside of the stock canister. Pop it out in a downward motion being careful not to break it. The pinhole outlet needs to be opened up to about .070".
If your keeping the stock regulator in the assembly and not running a return system, i think you have to open up the outlet of the regulator as well, but I dont know because I have never used the stock regulator with a walbro pump. Someone else can probably chime in on this.

Turbonetics 's manual has a discussion on the mod's they suggest to get the fuel Press down to normal range.. W/O any mod's you will wind up with a fuel pressure up around 80 psi at idle and during normal DD. I know first hand because I have not made the mod's yet.

Thanks a bunch phunk for your explanation. I drilled the regulator with a 7/64" bit and the swirl jet with a .070" bit. I start the car for the first time tomorrow and pray for the best...

If you read the TN install guide it tells you how to install the walbro fuel pump. In those instructions it shows you where the regulator is. It is a part of the fuel pump assembly

Car started and runs great thanks to Jeremy's tune. I have a leak at the mating surface between the stock MAF housing and the intercooler pipe it attaches to. It looks like the MAF housing is a little warped. This is causing a loud fluttering noise above 3k rpms. Also how did you guys get your vortech bov to stop fluttering. I tried turning both the screw on top of the hat and the one sticking out of the base and couldnt get it to stop fluttering

Sean,
I am not so sure that the area you are referring too is your entire problem.. If it is then that is great but thats a heck of alot of noise and not that much air coming out of that leak.. I honestly hope that is it..

the vortech i just installed made some noises, i am not sure what you are describing as a fluttering,
if its a backfiring bubbling sound, then its just really rich, the blower will make a lot of rattling sounds and the BOV will whistle for sure, its better if you put the filter on the BOV...
