Thumbs up Turbonetics single turbo kit 350z track time: Willow Springs 01-27-07

All the way on the bottom - 1:39.511

I'd love to see/compare times with other turbo/supercharged Z/Gs on this track. I am not the best driver and relatively new to doing HPDEs; this was my 3rd time on Willow Springs but 1st with my Turbonetics turbo system. I ran in the "white" group, which I think I fit well into.

I am just super excited to shave over 3 full seconds from my last Willow Springs event while NA (no wheels/tires and sways either). It sure feels good when the Carrera, M3, Cayman S, and other 'generally faster' cars give you the point-by. My top speed on the straight was 138mph (vs. 128mph NA) according to the gauge on the center console. I honestly felt like I could have gone faster (on the straight) but with ZERO faith in my brakes, I decided to live and be able to drive home than plowing straight in lol - I actually burned up my front pads on my 3rd heat beyond belief. The backing plate where the friction material sticks to, was bent!!! no friction materials left I did inspect my pads/rotors the night before and I THOUGHT I could squeeze one more event out of them.

I saw the VRT crew (red and yellow w/ silver door) and man, they sounded bad ***. The red one was pouring out smoke on heat 3(?), hopefully it was something minor. Also saw a real nice looking black-on-black G35 coupe, not sure if it was turbo/supercharged....although, "500HP" on the list gives you an idea haha. I wish I had the opportunity to chat with them but it was so cold and I basically stayed in my car with my jacket on haha. Perhaps I will say hello next time. Turbo Z/Gs rule! lol. MiaPlaya, I want to see yo *** on track next time!

I am extremely happy with my lap time, especially comparing it to cars with more power and race tires

A little info on my car:

I was out there on sunday, to bad you weren't there on sunday as well. It was my first time on a road course and it was a lot of fun! We made a video I will post up later this week as soon as I have time.

Are you going to be going to the Redline Timeattack on Feb 10? I'll be there

** edit
I love the fact that the best times belongs to the least powerful cars (most are 300hp and under).

You sure beat the times of some impressive cars . Road racing sure seems like a lot of fun . But it sounds expensive also .

it's definately more expensive than say.... autox'ing. believe me, with the cost of event and gas i cant do this every month; not to mention the general wear and tear.

but it is just so much fun and you get tons of seat time. always a nice group to be around with and i can always learn something. it's rewarding to see your lap times drop. and in process, pass some exotic/faster cars

i cant wait to go faster w/ better brakes.

George,

I promised myself that I will not track my car again until I put my Brembo on. I am retrofiting the track model Brembo setup on my touring. I just need to locate driver side rear and I am good to go. If you have one laying around, please let me know hehe.

Very interesting that a TT Z06 on slicks with over 800 HP was getting slower trap times than the Lotus Elise with "only" 190 HP...
