Default UTEC and 550cc injectors or bigger , problem...

There is any way to solve the warm starts ,with 550cc injectors or bigger, with the UTEC ?????? I know that pushing the gas pedal ,you could get easy starts , but even with this , sometimes my car takes a very long time to start, and the dark smoke after that is killing me.......

I fuel return setup makes warm starts a breeze again due to the lowering of the fuel pressure (by the FPR) as the engine pulls vaccum. my car starts right up with 550s and a fuel return. before the fuel return, warm starts took a little time.

What kind of fuel pressure are you running?

I've got a UTEC, 650cc injectors, a Walbro 255, and a complete fuel return system. I'm running a base pressure of 50psi and the car starts right up with no problems.

I used to run a base pressure of 60 and the car wouldn't always start when warm. Ever since lowering the pressure it's made a big difference.

if you could get ahold of a code scanner that can read short value fuel trims, it may allow you to dial it accordingly. it may be the fuel at idle and just off idle is out of whack a bit.

You can trim it out a bit in the fuel table to help some. I run 750c's and its tricky to get used to starting warm, but I can get it with good timing of cranking and throttle modulation every time

I have 750's, UTEC, and SGP return fuel syst. and I have hard warm starts also... I hate it, I'll let the car idle for 20min rather then shut it off and have to start it again, lol.

I have the APS fuel regulator ( 3.5 bar ) with a custom made complete fuel return ( cjm fuel feed , stock modified fuel rails , and the aps FPR )

Seems like every car, and every injector, can be hit or miss. We've done a bunch that crank right up when warm, and a small minority of others, need a throttle blip. Lowering the pressure to 37-42psi can help, but then you sometimes run out of fuel up top, depending on the injector size the customer has.

With the FCON, all of our cars start right up...instantly...with no throttle intervention. The low impendence injectors we use with the FCON, have far superior response time, when compared to high impedence injector. So they operate much better at low pulseswidths, such as start and idle conditions.

Hope that helps.
