Smile Hey Guys Twin Turbo

Hey guys I've been a member of 350Z.com for about 2 and a half years, but someone got my password and started messing with my log in name so i just deleted it. I drive a 2003 Nissan 350Z and im looking for a twin turbo for my car. I know a bunch of u on here have a twin turbo set up in ur Z so i was just wondering what kind of upgrades do i need to do to my engine before i get a twin turbo. i was looking into the APS twin turbo system i heard its pretty good, but i may be wrong. Or i might go supercharger what upgrades would i need for that? lol Which should i go with supercharger or twin turbo kit. Thanks for any help that u can give me.

Sorry but this is definitely a search topic. If you've been around 2+ years you would have known. What was your old screen name btw?

It is difficult to generalize how everybody should prep their cars to better support an FI configuration. The direction that each of us take differs in many ways, as our priorities, budget and end result varies.

You need to ask yourself these questions before mapping out the direction of your upgrades.

Without knowing any specifics, I would suggest that you first consider the drivability and control of your car and your budget you wish to allocate to this project.

Speak to a few vendors who have successfully worked on the 350Z and have had hands-on experience upgrading to FI systems. With all that information you also want to gather first hand experiences from the end user.

Joining local clubs and attending meets will also give you added exposure of what’s on the market and an actual live feel of a specific upgrade.

Only go with the APS TT kit **IF AND ONLY IF**, you can find a shop that has done at least 2+ installs, and you contact at least two, 1+ year, owners and ask them if they have had any problems. Problem as in, smoke out of the exhaust from burnt oil, gas fumes after a fill up, problems with the steering just to name a few speciffic to the APS TT kits. Of course the shop should have installed alot of TT kits on 350Z or G35s. Make sure they leave at least a 1/2" clearance between the steering column and the turbos on the driver side.

Thats completely up in the air. The consistency of the quality of the rods in each motor can vary alot. Some might blow it on 350 rwhp and others can get away with 500 rwhp. If you can afford it, get the motor built during the install. If you build the motor and just want sub 550 rwhp reliablely, then keep things simple in the build.

With a reliable management system 7/8psi of boost & larger injectors you could attain 400 rwhp (mustang dyno) reasonably safe; with stock engine and any turbo system or supercharger.

With the JWT's BB-530 TT/fuel pump inclusive and with only the split second box, 419 rwhp is pretty common on stock everything else.

I was pushing 400 rwhp with the Procharger and 380 cc injectors/FPR & walboro fuel pump; stock engine since mid 2003 till October 2006; when I switched to the JWT BB-700 TT.

Level of engine rebuilt depends on the boost and power you wish to generate, and if you plan to track the car.
