Hey guys, I recently just got my car back from getting a motor build and greddy tt install done at AAM and i just wanted to thank them and share my experience with you guys. First of all i just wanna thank all of the guys there that helped me out. Jason for puttin up w/ all my phone calls every other day to check on my car...lol, Frank for doin a great job puttin together my motor and then some, Dave, even tho i didnt get a chance to talk to you much but your cool...haha, and finally Mike who tuned my car which is running great.
So here are my mods:
Greddy Twin Turbo Kit
JE pistons 9:1
Crower billet rods
RC550cc injectors
walbro 255lph pump
AAM Maxflow exhaust
Crawford Plenum
AAM Oil Pan spacer
AAM Fuel Return system
AAM spec Dump pipes
HKS Headgasket
L19 Headstuds
Apexi AVC-R
Utec
Ok, so the motor fires right up and drives around and idles like stock when not in boost, even in this very warm 5 degree weather weve been having here in the northeast...haha. After 1000 miles of no-fun break in driving i took it in to get tuned 2 weeks later. So after a several hours of tuning we got some numbers. The tuning was done in 4th gear and i am still on my small a$$ 550cc injectors
that i had when i used to have my TN kit. We ended up with 508 whp and 431 tq at 13psi. The dyno is posted below. At that point my injectors were basically at 100% duty so we decided to keep it safe and tone it down just a bit (12 psi)cuz of the weather and some possible lean conditions that could happen. So i am going to wait till it gets warmer out and throw in some 750cc's and cams, then see what numbers we can make. Even now at this tune the car pulls like a beast, the open dumps sound crazy when in boost and it just gets so addicting...lol. Im sure most of you know what i mean.
After all is said and done, the car runs perfect like i stated before. And again i want to thank the guys at altered for helpin me with this big project. Also it was cool of you guys to call and check up on the car and how its running, etc. after my trip back to Harrisburg. You guys have treated me well for the past year or so that ive been there and i plan on returning in the future.

and why does this need to turn into another AAM bashing thread? The OP was sharing his build and numbers, not asking for your opinions of AAM.

ya and i realized that my AVC-R is a b1tch to use too, that thing is so touchy when you try to adjust the gain and whatever, sometimes itll fluctuate to lower boost when you raise the gain, takes a bit to get used to i guess. So we just have it set to low and high, and im not gonna touch it yet. lol
+1 on not turing this thread into another AAM bash fest. So far with me they have been great as well. Mike tuned mine via the reflash back in october and its been running great. I plan to go back and have a final dyno/tune session then to get the full advantage of the upcoming n/a mods to hold me over then for the next year until I can go either vortech or some version of tt.
Nice power #'s, enjoy the power. Cams make a big difference
True, I've had a couple of issues with AAM but at the same time there are TONS of people and shops selling their return fuel system, not to mention their exaust. And I"ve also got their Y-pipe, all are top quality. The make some quality stuff
a few bad apples, do not = most people

i was just curious.... why is it that you put the lower compression pistons, but you didnt sleeve the block with forged sleeves? whiles you had the motor open why not do that for added protection?

Hey Jon,
Thanks for the post! It was an extreme pleasure working with you and your 350Z!
How your car drove around when we were finishing the tuning was crazy, I hope you invest in some better/stickier tires before we upgrade the fuel system for even more power!!
I'll let Jason, Dave, & Frank know about this thread - they'll be excited to read!
