Default Cheapest place for FCON?

Title says it all. Where is the cheapest place I can get a complete FCON and tuning? Somebody mentioned that Tony Ch*** at Jotech did their set-up with tuning for $3400 which seems pretty darn good.
I'm also looking for a Tial 52mm BOV which I can't even seem to find anywhere period. My installer just quoted me at $350 which seems a little high. For that money, i'd rather do a twin bov set-up. I need both fairly quick so, i'd appreciate the help. Thanks in advance.

PM me with everything that you are looking for and I can get you a great price on everything including the tune. Also, what part of MD are you in?

Thanks guys but, I don't know what your trying to say unless you mean tuning. An FCON is an FCON any way you slice it so, it doesn't matter where I get it from.

Thanks Quadcam. I sent JetPilot a pm and im waiting to hear back from him.

+1^^^

The words cheap and FCON/tuning rarely go hand in hand. Make sure you take it to an experience HKS ProDealer, that has tuned and installed the unit on the VQ35. I good FCON tune/wiring takes the better part of day on the dyno, and plenty of road tuning, driving, and setup.

I think you guys are misunderstanding what im asking. I want to get the hardware at the best price. I'm shopping around so to speak. Why would anyone want to pay more for something from one place when they could get it for less at another? It makes no difference where the FCON comes from as each vendor sells the exact same components for the FCON. I really don't have the time to call around so, I was hoping that vendors would just post/pm me with their best price and that's who i'll buy it from but, I understand what you guys are saying as far as the tune is concerned.

Alberto, are you still on a UTEC? Are you planning to make the transition to a FCON? Where in MD do you live? I'd love to see your car when the weather is a little better. Im about 15 minutes from Alterred I saw your videos on streetfire a while ago and was very impressed. I don't think i've ever seen someone punish their trans as bad as you did in the track video. Pretty quick shifts huh?

Just an FYI, Pro Dealers are prohibited by contractual agreement, from selling the Vpro to an outside customer/3rd party directly. The unit has to be installed/tuned on the customer's car at the Pro Dealer that sells the unit. We wont take the risk of sending out Vpro's directly to customers. Each one has a serial number, and HKS is pretty meticulous about maintaining that database, so they will know which shop sold each unit.

You will have the best experience, if you buy the Vpro, and have it installed and tuned at the same location. AAM is the closest Pro Dealer to you.

Thanks for the info Sharif. I wasn't aware that HKS had such stringent contractual agreements. Thats good and bad I guess. At least customers have the peace of mind knowing that the Dealer is licensed and experienced. The only bad thing about that is that it doesn't seem like many dealers carry the Vpro.

Yes Im still on the UTEC, Im in Ellicott City about 45 minutes from AAM. I doubt I'll do an FCON,I cant justify $3000 for that EMS for a few reasons, PM me for details or keep an eye out in the Mid-A forums and we can meet up sometime.

I hear that Alberto.

What was all that talk I thought I heard about UTEC and upgrading to a slightly bigger resolution table. Or am I thinking wrong. Seems I read something about this at one time. If not, it would be nice though.

I read something similar after SEMA, supposed to happen around end of 2nd quarter I think? Any time before spring time would be nice to see...

I'm sure the FCOn is a wonderful peice of hardware, but it would seem that most serious people are going to want to have a hand in the tuning of their car; the end user is locked out!! With the FCON, it is my understanding that you must have an HKS Pro Dealer perform the install and tuning of this device. It is too bad that HKS won't let end users perform their own tuning.

Has anyone tried incorporating the FAST XFI yet? That seems to be the EMS of choice in the 6-7 sec drag race crowd.

Thats true. Only authorized dealers can tune the car otherwise it remains "locked". I personally don't care either way though as I don't want to have any hand in tuning the car. I would rather have someone just put a good reliable tune on it so, I can enjoy the car. Sometimes it seems like people do more harm than good when they play around with tuning.
JetPilot got back to me Quadcam but, he has a wastegate for sale not a blow off valve. Thanks though. Mike @ Alterred pmed me and im going to go speak with him in the next day or so about all the "goodies".

The FCON certainly doesnt have a monopoly in the stand alone EMS world, but at this time, it works the best on the VQ35.

Any standalone, with good intergration, fast processing speeds, a robust feature set, and high resolution, can do just as good a job. Shortly, there will be other options for self-tuners, such as Haltec and others. From my experience, I would say that 20% of my customers are interested in self-tuning and monitoring, and the other 80% want a smooth safe tune...and dont want to think about the EMS.

As much as I'd like to have the FCON, I'm not thrilled about having to run to my authorized dealer everytime I want to switch maps to run higher boost and racegas. The V-Pro isn't multi-map switchable by the driver, right?
