Default sfr kit

So i'm very interested in the SFR turbo kit because i like the way it is built and set up. the quality looks top notch. however, i was wondering if i could purchase the kit without the turbos, and put on two garrett gt30's or gt28's on there. i'm going to ask Tim that question, but i wanted to ask the community what they thought about doing that? i love the fact that with the SFR headers i have a wide array of turbos i can mount, and i'm guessing installation is a little easier than traditional Greddy/APS installs, is this correct? so what do you all think. sfr kit with twin gt28's or gt30's with hks fcon for tuning? i live in the chicagoland, are there any really good tuners and shops around here for the Z? plus i'm looking at keeping the engine internals stock until i have the money to do a complete build up with only the best parts, and going all out on power. 380whp is perfect for me for the time being, and the reason i want the sfr is because i can expand when i upgrade fuel and motor, because i'm looking at 600+ in the future. thanks again.

SFR is known to be able to tailor their Turbo Kit to their customers' needs and wants. That said I've spoken to Tim before and I'm pretty sure they can do that for you. But you should call and ask for yourself.

I would also be interested, as I believe that Garrett units are superior.

so i emailed tim, and i told him i would like a quote for the kit, minus turbochargers, fuel system, engine management, blow off valves, and wastegates. i want to get the two gt30's, with turbosmart wastegates, and hks or synchronic blow off valve and wastegate. as for fuel management, most likely cj motorsports stage 1 fuel return, and rc 550cc injectors. so what you all think. garrett turbos are awesome and the gt30's spool up very quickly. anyone have any feedback on my setup, thanks.

I would stick with tial wastegates, and you will still need a some sort of engine management. Other then that it will be a nice setup/

Edit: Didnt see you say Fcon

thanks MRC. so will the downpipes that come with the sfr kit bolt right up to the garrett as well, and be in the right posititon to bolt up with teh rest of the exhaust? i know they are both 5 bolt exhaust housing, but is the distance to the rest of the exhaust the same? i'm pretty sure the oil feed and return fittings that come with the SFR kit will not be compatable with the Garrett turbos because they are different styles i think, is this right? and lastly, where is the scavenge pump mounted, and how is its efficiency? does it work well, is it loud?

We opted for the V-band style connectors, to simplif install. You will need to make a custome V band sytle test pipe to go from the turbo to the exhaust. Its all releavant as to which turbos you opt for. You will also need to fo a bit of grinding with the GT35's we opted for to make them fit.
As for the oil pump, not that noisy at all..

agreed. SFR is the bomb. I'm running their kit on a built motor. We are putting it on the dyno this week and should see ~600whp. "Tim will make your wildest dreams come true" -Pedro

Thats cause all the other kits have been maxed out.Tim was about 2-3 years ahead of the technology when he designed their kit..
All the "BIG DOGS" will be running the SFR in the future.

KevinApex made 591 at the wheels, at 12.2 psi of boost, up in the Rockys, on 91 octane, with a mild build up(Arias pistons,Pauter rods, stock sleeves, stock heads,JWT cams, lightweight clutch and flywheel,3" exhaust, upper plenum,Utec,AAM fuel system,etc........). No sleeved block,no stroker,no big valve heads or even any headwork. Oh and Kevin did the install himself on jackstands and did an excellent job.

There are quite a few guys out there who have our kits with big builds so hopefully we will hear from them soon.It takes time for people to get the word out.We are relatively new to the scene and we have to pay our dues. The fact is though that we designed a kit that could be utilized to make big power. You are only going to get so much power out of a 20G or GT28 with a tiny turbine wheel and exhaust housing. It is as simple as that.

Hopefully, we will be manufacturing those downpipes so potential customers will not have to do any fabricating
