Default Engine oil with Vortech.

Last oil change I used Motul 300V 5w/30, any reason to switch to anything else once the vortech goes on?

From what Iv been researching, the Motul is a great Trans/Diff oil but a tad lacking in engine oil----When I was running my vortec and before and after, I just had such good luck with the Mobile 1, I stayed with it. The Royal is just too expensive ( for what u get )---Its ur call really

Plus ---the M-1 is just so dam easy to get

If you change your oil every 3000 mile . Any good synth. oil should be good enough I think . I change mine about every 1500 miles though

I change my RP every 1500 miles too......

I had a bad exp before for not changing routinely and boom went the turbine.... Never going to let that happen again.........

So with that said.. I could care about price and I never settle for less than RP every 1500 miles.....

Also, there is a FI engine oil thread started by canny sage, and I believe Forged is selling great oil at a cheap price! You should check it out...

I never tried Motul oil with my Vortech. Been using Mobil 1 10W30 since my Vortech install and had no problems so far. Change my oil every 3,000 miles.

Just curious about the vortech setup. Since the oil span is tapped for the vortech, do you have add additional quarts of oil for the vortech?

The UPPER oil pan is drilled and tapped for the oil dump, that is oil OUT, not pressurized oil IN to the SC. No ---the oil capacity stays the same

There is no oil pump with the Vortech kit.

i think we need a Sticky for engine oil stuff. Maybe a post for each type of oil being used and any data there is on it like oil analysis. I'll create the thread and hopefully a mod can stick it.

I've been using Valvoline synpower 10W30 since B4 my Vortech install and had no problems so far...Change my oil every 3,000 miles... Changing and checking oil routinely will help in any FI set up...Do ur homework and protect ur investment...Vortec power wise, drivability, and maint. is well worth the money...

np man, one of the reasons i went with the vortech was it was safer. i honestly do not want to dump another 5 grand into a engine build nor was i looking for the fastest car on the planet. i wanted something reliable, safe on motor and easy to drive daily. after researching for a month, Vortech stood out and met everyone of those criterias i was looking for as much as i wanted a turbo it just wasn't worth it.
