Hey Guys
Ok, here is the problem....the throw on this clutch has changed from being very much acceptable to near rediculous.
When I first got the car back, and had the used ATS that I purchased go in, the clutched worked very well for about 1500-1800 miles, had a good, "highish" position, had a nice soft engagement at first with, yes, a grabby feel toward the end..but still a reasonable 'throw' between where it first engages to where it's all in. Now... the throw is about 10-20% of what it was before. The point between where it first starts to grab to where it's all in is BARELY 1/4" (or that's how it feels).
Anyone else experience this?
I am just getting sick of it now. Will probably end up pulling it out and putting an Exedy in...from what I heard it's very consistent.

sorry sorry low blow.......
There seems to be quite a few of these complaints from ATS/Carbonetics owners... But one thing tho...the GTM Exedy is a great clutch. I'll let you take mine for a spin when I get down there next week.

had the same problems with my ATS Twin....was so goddam undrivable I was stuck on a hill in bumper to bumper traffic and was 5 seconds away from just having it towed home.....do the clutch pedal adjust I have never been happier.....u can alter the engagement point to exactly where you like it....just if you lower it test the cruise control.....two short and the car will not be able to sense that the pedal is depressed....also look into changing the line over to a stainless line and MOTUL RBF600 brake fluid with a nice flush...that will preemptively stop the other issues you will encounter (clutch sticking after running for a while...esp noticable when driving with the A/C on for prolonged periods of time)

That should fix any problems unless you have a small Hydraulic leak.
+3...I dont think there is anything wrong if the clutch, per se. Check carefully for leaks, as they are difficult to spot. You will need to rub your finger around all the fittings to check for fluid.

I did drive Sam's which has the triple prototype, a really nice clutch... no question about that.
But hte problem is that i didn't mind mine at all (not as good as the Exedy to be sure), it was nice, it just doesn't freaking stay that way.
Make sre you call me up when you are down here bro

I was told though that mostly adjusts for hte position and not the throw. But I will definitely give it a try.
Thanks for all the help guys.
Some facts on the Exedy vs. the Carbonetics(ATS).
Across Japan owns the only true patent on Full carbon & carbon composite disc's in the world(Across supplies all the CF to ATS/Carbonetics). ACROSS is also one of the largest CF manufacturer's in the world.
Tilton held the CF composite patent for years in the US, but that contract ended in the end of 2006.
Exedy's disc's last I knew are not as good of a carbon composite as Carbonetics and they still can't get around the patent issue to make a carbon composite disc.......
I have a Exedy Twin Carbon/Mettalic and it hold power great but the engagement no matter how many times adjusted will not change.....it engages one inch from the top which is a nightmare to drive in stop and go traffic, unlike the Carbonetics, the engagement of the Exedy changes vastly when heated up and i have seen the discs get so hot on the drag strip that it will not allow the car to drive because of slippage.
I have seen issues with both Exedy and Carbonetics, I will be testing out a Carbonetics Triple Disc and comparing the two.

Hey Gurgen,
I bet you it's the same problem that I'm having with my dual clutch and from what I read the Stainless Clutch line solves it.
Sam has my car right now and they finished the install and he says it feels already much better.

Thanks for that...that's all I had to hear. Sharif has said this as well, and I am definitely planning to do this now.
Sinice I do not know about these much, which would you go with/recommend?
Thanks much.
