Default Em I missing anything, vortech install

Ok guys got the full vortech sc kit and installing it this weekend. I got:

04 full kit
3/8 npt hose tap connector (for some reason vortech dos not provide)
3.12 9psi pully
93" belt for 9psi pully
power enterprise 6qrt oil pan
going to get ecu flash (raising idle, no speed limiter etc.)
geting a tune by AA in meryland (all they do is work on Z's and G's)
new oil and oil filter for oil change
got boost guage, pil temp, a/f

I know that I can use a diferent fuel management and oil pump and stuff like that (utech) but that will be later down the road.

tools:

got the angle drill and the 2.5" whole drill bit for the intercooler piping
torque rench

this post is to figure out if I need anything els. Im doing the install myself with a couple of friends and we want the operation to go as smooth as possible. any insight or are we good to go? also maybe some pointers? I think we can do the complete install w/o the removal of the front bumper?

im pretty good with the electrical stuff and decided that the harness is not worth $250. but i did consider. thanks for the input. I guess I got everything. The kit did come in and it seams like they dont use an oilpan gasket after they remove the oil pan. instead they use a silicone sealer witch is not provided ><. anyone have any clue about this?

There is no oil pan gasket stock. Cars these days use the silicone sealant. Just make sure you clean off the old stuff really well before reinstalling the pan.

1 step colder iridium spark plugs like NKG or denso might be a good thing, especially if you have a fair amount of miles on the stock ones

thanks guys. im getting down to every detail ( i even got the cf duct that goes on the front bumper witch you have to cut into for better airflow to the vortech air filter) and the excitment is just building up. Wish me luck I know I can do it.

so one step colder iridium plugs ha... are these available at pep boys/ auto zone? I wonder why they recomend the same plugs as OEM /?

Iridium usually not available at your local auto parts store. Did you already buy the CF duct? I have them available for $70.

hey muzzy, glad you got your vortech kit and everything looks good. i would make sure you find the 3/8 NPT tap and you will be good to go.

make sure the pipe that comes up behind the blower assembly is pushed back as far as you can, its very close to rubbing moving parts if you dont.

just think ahead too, and follow the instructions. Vortechs instructions are very good and you shouldnt have any issues at all. dont get on the car till you have it tuned either...

good luck!!

thanks man yea the kit arrived and everything seams to be intact. I got the 3/8" npt tap at lowes for 8$. ill look into the hose you are talking about but yea i got extra zip ties to make sure nothing is conflicting in there.

starting the install tonight and should be done saturday night I was going to pm you sundayish with how it went. actually Im going to write a full report of the steps with pictures.

I have one last thing left that came up

the part ware we cut into the fuel line from the gas tank, do i need to relieve the fuel pressure in there? also is there a fuel pressurereliever of some sort like a return line... not a 100% clear on that but im pretty sure that ill get it right tonight.

also since im using the 3.12 pully do i need to upgrade my injectors? seams ppl in the forums are geting by the stock ones still. I just wondering if you know how max they are with the 3.12 pully as a form of % (ex: they operating at 98% max output). thanks allot

Several posters are operating with stock fuel pump and Injectors with the 3.12 pulley...How close they are to max'ing the system is not always known since they don't seem to determine it.. During tuning you might get a better idea of where your's is at if you have steady/good A/F at high RPM..Again it won't tell you what the ratio is and how close to 80% or beyond they are operating at...Larger fuel pump and injectors eleminates the pucker feeling you get when you go WOT.. Good Luck
