I'd assume with a car like that, when you want to drive it, you want to DRIVE it, not cruise the highway in it on your way to work putting wasted miles on your $13k+ engine

The TH400 IMO is the best option for your car because like you said, shifting is tricky because of the accelleration, and having to shift 4 times vs 2 times in the quarter mile is time wasted shifting and the shorter gearing will just make traction worse. The auto will nail the shift point each time even with 850+whp. 1st gear will take you to 60mph@7000 rpms, 2nd will take you to 110mph, 3rd will take you to 162.

You'd get more traction, more consistent shifts, less shifting, no clutch to wear out with huge amounts of torque, less chance of snapping an axle which isn't cheap to fix (would negate highway mpg with the 6 speed manual) it'd be a piece of cake to drive around town

the only disadvantage would be you don't have an overdrive gear for driving on the highway in. So other than highway mpg and it not being a manual anymore, there's no real downside
I agree with everything you just said sentry, and yes I do have another daily driver. If I was to build a drag car, then yes, I would no doubt opt for the TH400, and go for some 305 slicks or DR's in the back.

But the point of this project from the get-go was to build a street car first and foremost, that I can whip down the 1320 as well as sweep up trophies at car shows. Building a drag car is easy. Building a "street car" that can drag and go pick up groceries after would be a much more enjoyable feat to accomplish. Not to mention making it as close to oem reliability as possible.

So while I do agree with everything you have just said, that is not the point of my project.

Oh and I do have a custom set of 18" Volk Time Attack TE37's at home, with 295 DR's in the back.

Assuming you need it perhaps its time for some better flowing fans if you don't have them already. Some Flex-a-Lite slim lines or Spal fans would pull more CFM. If you add an HKS Fan Controller you could also lower the turn on temp for the fans and run both of them at high speed when they come on. It should help some.
Thanks for the advice Mia. I haven't really looked into changing intercoolers at all, as I want to run what came with the kit to ensure their engineering purposes. I will look into the HKS Fan Controller you mentioned though. Thanks.

The only complaint I have is with the APS Extreme Fuel system. Can't wait for Charles to release the stage 4 CJM kit so I can finally get rid of this thing for cheap.

Can you elaborate? Is it because you haven't hit your whp potential with this fuel system or something else?

sorry can't elaborate right now. Don't want to get certain shops/vendors in trouble. Feel free to PM me if you are concerned.

I was talking to Charles, and he said the twin pump is actually the stage 4. That's just what I've been told. Didn't track the different "stages" too much, and so it's just purely from what he told me.
