I don't know if you have also considered running water-meth injection as well. It should help reduce cylinder temps a bit as well while under boost. In all you should be able to mitigate at least most of the potential for overheating for relatively cheap.

I couldn't find the fan controller on any of the board vendors site but here's a listing for $169: http://www.hopupracing.com/hksfanco.html

Heres the data from HKS on it: http://www.hksusa.com/products/more.asp?id=1697

For fans you could a pair of Spal 10" or 12" fans and have Sam or some other decent shop weld up a nice aluminum shroud. Flex-a-lite makes a dual fan unit for the 240SX which should work with some slight modification to the brackets: http://www.flex-a-lite.com/auto/html/345-nissan.html

Spal fans are about $150 a piece for the 12" high performance units. Figure another $100-300 for the shroud. So lets say $600 for the fans. Then some wiring which should be easy and you have a potential solution for under $1,000. I'd also think about switching to straight DI water and watter wetter if it doesn't snow where you live. All that should take care of MOST of the overheating issues. I know there's supposed to be increased heat from the increased displacement but your water temp shouldn't be THAT high. The Spearco Water Injection System is also pretty well priced and Sharif has had some good success with it. Info on that here: http://www.turboneticsownersclub.com/viewtopic.php?t=37
Wow thanks for all the info Mia. Really appreciated it.

I'll definitely look into the fans, and yes, I already have the Aquamist water/meth injection.

Anytime bro. Glad to hear you have something for water/meth injection. One thing I also didn't mention on the above which you'll read is that the HKS fan controller has a provision to activate a intercooler water sprayer on factory turbo cars. While I know we don't have one from the factory I'm quite sure it can be made to work with an aftermarket pump and sprayer. I of course wouldn't recommend you use the water/meth mix to spray the intercooler but a small resevoir could be made cheaply or you could modify a Greddy catch can to use as a water storage tank. Rigging up a water sprayer is VERY cheap to do. I've been planning for one and will probably do one soon enough. Just run a small pump that runs off of a 12 volt activation signal and run a couple lines to a spray bar that can spray both the rear of the intercooler and the front of the radiator as well and you can have the HKS fan controller activate that spray whenever the temp gets too high. Ideally you could use your factory washer tank if you aren't already using it for the Aquamist kit that way you would know when its getting low on water. In fact Sport Compact Car rigged up a cheap intercooler sprayer on their project Silvia. Here's the article: http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/pr...silvia_part_v/

Yea, I have my 19" Volks with a big lip & 295 PS2's, but really prefer running my 18" Enkie's w/305 DR's. BUT keep in mind when you hit any significant rain the DR's become hockey pucks and your only recourse is to hold on for dear life and pray you got some decent fronts to steer with...

That fan solution sounds interesting. I will see how mine runs before looking into that as I have a lot of stuff already being installed. Like you I am having the Spearco's water meth kit installed. I might even change the DEI Cryo intercooler sprayer to NOS... will see how that goes.

I've never been a big fan of nitrous sprayers on the intercooler. I just don't feel comfortable spraying nitrous that close to the intakes. I know you can do it with the motor off and the likely hood of sucking any up is slim but in a situation like the above where you are stuck in traffic are you really going to shut off your motor spray the nitrous then start it again and keep driving? I'm not knocking anyone who runs one I would just feel safer spraying water mist so there's no chance of running lean and you can spray it with the motor running..

Have you tried Evans NGP coolant? I tried this a few years ago when my MR2 turbo heated in bumper to bumper. The most amazing coolant {waterless} ever. It completely solved my problems. Yes it's waterless, you run 100% coolant. Just Google NGP coolant and you'll get all the details. If you did'nt already know about this I hope it helps.

OK Alex......do you want your videos shot in my rear or side view mirrors.....and no drugs today.....just high on the fact that I'm 2/3 the way to having 650 rwhp NA.....and I have a 250 shot NOS plate going in.....then a t-88 to follow.....

I say we team up and rob truckers.....and we can call ourselves VIN and live our lives one 1/4 at a time.....

but seriously...we need to create a nation wide club for the super insane people such as you and myself.....and dominate the show and race scene.....
