Default APS Injectors sufficient for anticipated power levels?

Running APS ST with UniChip and APS' 500 cc injectors. Per mfgtr claim, they're good up to 100hp/ea., but my understanding was that the flow rating was 'overrated', etc., whatever

New built block coming in; for the short while (during break in) I'll still be on the Unichip platform/APS injectors. Tring to discern whether it will be necessary to upgrade to larger injectors when I make the jump to UTEC?

Anticipated power levels in the very high 400's/low 500's with the pressures/timing intended; so the basic question is will I be pushing my luck with APS injectors on this setup (UTEC + APS 500), or should I consider 550's/650's?

If there are related links that have already discussed this topic, I apologize and would be eager to read them.

Much thanks!

its possible to cram that type of power thru those injectors if you went OC with the fuel pressure, but without an adjustable regulator, your probably not going to achieve that type of power.

The APS language and descriptions are great when you're trying to sell those injectors used. When Tuan was doing my initial tune, fuel was the major reason I couldn't get anymore higher hp. I needed a better fuel system and injectors to allow me to boost higher. Unichip simply won't work with larger injectors, a better EMS is needed. Although the APS extreme fuel system is great, it's a bit over my budget and too "extreme" for my goals (we can only go so far). I opted to go with CJ Motorsports stage II, and 650cc injectors. I also picked up Irshad's old utec since he'll be switching to FCON.

Layman's description of an upgraded fuel system (e.g. CJ Motorsports) v. APS's setup as APS comes with the pressure regulator and the Walbro pump...?

UTEC and larger injectors, if you are planning on more than 450whp.

Is a $1k+ return fuel system necessary or will the APS setup suffice?

Im running my car with the RC550cc injectors and the UTEC on the APS fuel system with no problems.

Depends on how far you want to go, if you want to go much over 500hp i would get something like the CJM stage 2. If i take my car any further I will go for the CJM stage 3 when its out.

APS fuel system will suffice for your expected power goals....just upgrade the injectors and the EMS.

Well, if you can get away with the stock aps fuel system, bigger injectors/utec that would be great. If you do go this route, I'm interested to see how far you can go before it maxes out. But I hear ya man, these things add up!

Sounds like a good plan. I knew Irshad wanted to go FCON so I'm sure you got a good deal on the UTEC. When do you expect them to have everything done?

, I wish but my motor is not even there yet. Good luck on everything and can't wait to hear your numbers. Also, give my baby a little pat on the hood when you see her, she likes that.
