so its soon to be summer and my friend just got a new Lancer IX and i think hes going to be faster then me....that doesnt make me happy!

So i was thinking of a 3.12 pulley, with the turbonetics fuel pump shortcut. Is this a wise decision or im i going to wait for something to blow?!

HELP HELP

What is the TN fuel pump shortcut? BTW-Evo9 w/bolt-ons and a tune is EASILY mid 12's low 12's with a good driver, a few have dipped into 11's with alcohol injection-stock snail. You are gonna spend $$$ and likely still get beat.

if i understand it correctly(hope i do) its when you take out the fuel pump and put in a 255 one and drill it slightly. Add injectors and dyno it and thats it. But like i said i could be very very wrong!

I have these injectors sitting right in front of me and i want to get them in the car! Dont know the best way to do that though!

You don't need to swap pumps to change the injectors. Just install the new injectors and have someone flash your ECU for them.

How big of injectors can you run on the stock pump by rescaling the ECU for larger injectors? Has this been tried before?

so i have 440cc injectors and will be getting a 3.12 pulley soon. All i have to do is install the injectors and then get my car dynoed? Or can i use the Nissans programmer thing that they have at work for flashing?

I think a walbro 255 fuel pump would be cheaper than a $600 flash.

But that doesn't change the fact that you are trying to run larger injectors with the stock ECU.

The greddy kit brings 440's and there's no need to flash the ECU to run that kit. You scale the injectors with the EMS. If he was swapping out his injectors for 550's then he would need to flash the ECU cause the SS box can't scale enough for 550's.

P.S. - i know i got 440's but how can i know for sure!? What i bought was 440's but what happens if what i bought isnt what i wanted?

........sorry now im paranoid! I just want my car to be a little faster!

You don't need to have the SS box control the larger injectors if you have the stock ECU flashed for them. SS box will work normally and you'll have more fuel.

either way will work, ecu flash or SS tuning. $600 for the ecu flash, $500-$600 for tuning, and $100 for the walbro 255, but why spend $600 on a flash if he has to pay for a retune anyway? Not to mention his car will be down a few extra days while he waits to get his ECU back.

Tuning has to be done either way, but since the SS box only works in boost, there is nothing to control the larger injectors outside of boost unless the ECU is flashed.

find a local tuner to tune the SS box.

send the ECU to technosquare or AAM for the reflash.

Honestly, you should look into a Utec though.
