You've toasted your tranny how many times? And you are giving criticism on how to shift?

 

Ive toasted it 1X. The first 3 were versions 001-003-well documented problem tranny's replaced under warranty. Nice try on a put down though. I push my car the way I feel people should when they go to the track, you break $hit when you race, its part of the game. You trying to put me down because I do something only 5% of Z owners do shows how much you really dont understand racing. Enjoy leaving your truck in "D" down the 1/4 and thinking you can drive though.

Booger-is your 5AT faster or slower when you leave it in full auto?

The few runs I got at the track [ before it closed ] I left the car in auto till it got to third , then I put it into manual and shifted or didnt shift into 4th before the line . I think you can get 200 more rpm out of each gear if shifted in manual . Was it faster ? never did any to compare to say for sure .

Mark I sincerely didnt mean to offend your wife, believe me when I say that. My GF drives a Z, and I wouldnt want people making fun of her if she posted some times online, so I wouldnt do it to your wife. The thread took a poop Im sorry for what I contributed to make that happen. Id really like to hear some results once your wife gets more seat time and manually shifts it down the track, Im sure the times will be much better.

 

i dont really think you could have offended his wife by what you said, the car is faster in manual mode, hands down. you brought that up. you can hold every gear out longer, but thats when the guy started insulting you.

at 9 psi, the car should be faster, im sure with more practice she will get better, its the tone and way you posted mark that we took offense to...

I don't know if I'm reading a different thread than booger and sharif, but it seemed to me that a perfectly legitimate question was asked and STL Lightning immediately went on a tirade about outdriving everyone under the sun and how lame everyone else was for how many posts per day they have, etc.

 

I've watched Alberto over the years post negative comments in so many threads. If he leaves out the first part of his comment, then it doesn't sound like he is being a dick. But in the context of how he posts, there was only one way to take it.. And my "tirade" was only against Alberto until his buddy jumped in, bragging up his SHOP car that ran .5sec faster than my best last year.

that was my shop car btw, we trailered to a drag strip kinda far away. i could pull it right up next to you on the street though any day of the week.

also, to the OP, im sure your truck is fast, im sure your Z is fast too, it has nothing to do with that. it has to do with your tone on here and insulting and replying the way you did, plus somewhat bragging while making excuses...

 

Again, first post clearly states these are shake down runs. Maybe my methodical approach to adding mods and tuning is the reason I've never tossed an engine?

And for the real racers that you and Alberto are, I don't understand how you continue to make apples to oranges comparions on track times. There is a huge difference between near sea level tracks and the midwest. Unless Alberto is running at my track, his comparisons to our times are meaningless. My last 10.9 run had a corrected DA of 1100' in 89 degree weather. It was a regular test n tune night with street tire cars degrading the track. Was your run at a track rental? How much VHT did you drop before the run?

The only one making comparisons is you, you came in with the truck times that nobody gives 2 $hits about on this forum, you then proceeded to make stupid comments like "I will out R/T and 60ft you" blah blah.

Im done with this thread. Mark you have shown you cant take a simple question, and you obviously need comments sugar coated. It really is sad...
