Default 5AT Vortech track result

We went out to "Midnight Madness" at Gateway International Raceway last night, St Louis. It was a madhouse as always, and we got 1 run in...

Michele did not do a burn out and left off idle.. Nitto 555R's @ 22psi Results:

60" - 2.007
1/4 - 12.906
MPH - 107.64

This was letting the car shift itself. There is A LOT more potential in this car once she gets to practice burn outs and hard launching on a less busy night. I'm so proud of her.

Oh ya, the Lightning went 11.7@116 on its first shake down run after the new blower. A/F was 10.3 through most of the run and I'm running low boost right now..

*edit*.. Just to clarify, the tires were at 22psi.. The Vortech was at 9

Not to be a d!ck, but why would you not manually shift the car @ the track? Im sure these numbers will improve, congrats on that.

Thanks guys.
It's an automatic. Why not run it in auto? It runs great, shifts well, and there aren't any mistakes that I can make with the shifting (too early, too late). Punch it and go!

I don't even know how to drive stick, so it is going to take a little learning to get there with this baby. We're hoping for some Tuesday and/or Wednesday night racing where I can get in a bunch of passes.

The Z is shifting really good with the new valve body. Once I take the time to manually shift it, it's going to be 100% SICK!

If you guys don't know, pre-Valve Body the car would not shift exactly when you told it to; it would take a little bit to process the command, and then shift. Post-Valve Body it says "Ma'am, Yes Ma'am!" and SLAMS you into the next gear.

It's going to be a very interesting year!

Went through Sharif @ Forged Performance. He's a supporting vendor here -- look him up and ask him to hook you up!

Nice numbers, I was thinking about heading out for Midnight Madness but got out of work late and ended up having to go in early Saturday. Will definitely be there next time though!

I dont know if yours is like this or not ,but mine is . My tack is off by 500rpm when its getting close to redline . So trying to shift manually and at redline can be tricky . At what rpm does your shift at ? Its been so long I cant remember...lol Im thinking 6600rpm...not sure .

Boog -- I have no idea. It was one pass down the track, and I wasn't in the groove...trying to get in it took up most of my thought process Friday night.

I thought you might have remembered from driving on the street . No biggy ! Do you remember how soon before the 1/4 mile line , that it shifted into 4th ? just before ? about a second before ?
