I don't have the RPM signal going into the profec e-01 so I am having some trouble tuningn that spike out of the curve. I plan to hook that up and use the off-set boost feature to make that boost curve flat as I can! I would like to go with the EVC, just so all of the electronics are the same...

As for the power peak... I plan to use the Cosworth intake when it is avail and I would like to see if this thing will make power all the way to 7500. I am sure it will! Everything else is there to do it.

Cool. If you can push numbers all the way up to 7500 you'd be one of a select few that managed that feat. Good luck.

The e-01 config explains the boost spike. EVC 6 is the hotness for EBC's right now. Keep us posted on future progress Sounds like things are just getting started

Not to take anything away from this amazing self build-but my car did 7whp less on stock heads and with 1psi less boost-same dyno, where are the gains from these heads?

OP-I highly admire the fact that you did all of this yourself, you did a great job. The numbers are impressive. Wanted to let you know in case you didnt already know, the car has MUCH more trap left in it, what you trapped Im looking to do with 491whp on Sharif's dyno. You should be approaching 130mph with that power. I look forward to your times with DR's!

edit-what was your 1/8 mph??

Sharif - why don't you post Alberto's dyno over laid over jkenefic dyno... peak numbers are one thing but I'm more interested in seeing the over all differernces between these two setups...

LOL-awesome Doug. He gets me down low, I get him a bit midrange, then he edges me out up top, then I beat him again by a little-damn good back and forth.

Sharif always said my car was a freak-it did very strong numbers for no head work @ 15psi. Remember also, that dyno for me was with less than 400 miles on that engine, it feels much stronger now that its "loosened" up...regardless I didnt mean to take away from his build, I was just curious on Sharif's comment I quoted above.

Also keep in mind that that spike in power around the 4000 rpm range was a result of a boost spike... So, that is not a good representation either... Let me get this boost curve flatened out and then compair the sheets. Sharif was also having to retard the timing quite a bit going from 14psi to 16psi on the pump gas, which is why you see the power drop off...

Also just as a side note, I was the first car that was tuned on the new AWD dyno that was delivered the day before I got there. So these were not dynoed on the same machine.

Either way both cars are making great power with plenty more left in each of them. I think that the Cosworth heads will earn their keep once the power levels and rpm range is raised... But as of right now I have more power than I can manage to get down the track with street tires, so first things first! I need some DRs and probably some axles!

True^ Once that intake manifold comes out I hope some of us will have GOOD, consistent power till 7000rpm's. On one of my DJ runs my car made power to there, but dropped off at 6200 like normal in other runs. Good point on the dyno's being switched around for all we know I could do 520 on that one lol...

Fair question. As you alluded to, your engine was a FREAK man...never seen that much power with stock heads, and just cams....and it hasnt happened again since we built/tuned your car....which was about 6-7 months ago, IIRC.

The two examples I was refering to, were Stormcrow and DJSmitty. We built/tuned both of those engines on the new dyno within days of each other. Both were bone stock heads, and no cams. One car made 491whp at "about15psi"....I cant remember the precise boost level...and the other car made 480whp at about 15psi as well. When I say "16psi", I try to get a good read on the boost level AT the power peak...rather than the boost level at the end of the run, or in the beginning of the run....since we know that boost can move around a little bit. The boost level on these three cars was too close to call...all roughly the same.

So using the prior two examples, I came up with the rough 60whp gain with heads and cams.

The numbers comparisons are fraught with error, as no two cars are identical in all respects...all of you guys have stink fast cars..enjoy!

In regards to the heads, they will shine even more at higher boost levels, I imagine. We are just teasing the heads with a mere 15-16psi on pump gas.

I see where your coming from Sharif. 500+whp on any uncorrected DD is fast! OP-be careful with the power the a$$ can get away all too quickly...

I totally agree!!! Both cars are sick fast and until I figure out how to put what I have already down to the ground I am not to worried about getting more right now... But it is nice to know that once I learn to drive this car I have more left! LOL

Alberto needs to give me some DR lessons!

You probably need to get some different rims in order to get wider tires. Those offsets you got won't handle anything wider then 285.

Yeah, I plan on getting some 18's here shortly. BamBam had a set of RP03s with some 305 DR on them that I think I am going to get... When I saw his car at Forged they looked to fit perfectly.

jkenefic,
I tried to PM you but your box is full.

Where at in Indy are you? I am from Terre Haute. Where are these Z meets in indy you were talking about. I will be back in Indiana in August, hope my car build will be done by then.

Would love to meet up with fellow Z enthusiasts.
