Sweet! The open dumps sound so sweet. I need a spare bumper and some track wheels. Now that looks like a rush......and it lasts longer than 12 secs.

tracks days are a blast. It has been about 13 years since I have ventured onto a race track. I was able to track my FD rx-7 a few times at Sebring. what a blast!!

nice meeting you man, good to put a face to a SN.

here are a few really crappy pics. the blue and yellow porsches were from APR, they were very fast cars. the blue one was being driven by randy pobst. the yellow ones turbo sounded sick.

The APR Tuned 911 Turbos were a real treat to see in action, especially with Randy and Ian behind the wheel, two of the top professional Porsche drivers. I was told by APR, that the yellow once was making about 500whp+, and the blue one making a nasty 700whp+.

Looks and sounds like you had as blast. Did you get a chance to check out the museum? That guy sure is a hard core motorcycle lover.

That is some nice company you're keeping there Sharif. What kinda lap times were the APR Porsches turning? The blue 997 TT looks wicked.

The crew timed most of the cars out there, with our Robix stopwatch, and our eyes. When there was no traffic, and a hot lap, the best we clocked them at was a 1.40, which I am sure is their "casual" driving speed no doubt. From what I have been told, an average GT3 Professional Cup Driver it usually in the mid to low 1:30's range, and a $200K fully prepped race car.

The blue 911 sounds like the devil...seriously. It was whistling as it cut through the wind....very neat.

you better be ready to spend some major bank at barber, especially if you only plan on having less than 15 people join you. its crazy expensive. iirc its between 10-15k a day on the weekends. split that between 15 people.

It is a great track, I did a Superbike school out there. I was always afraid of turn 4!

Yes, it an expensive track to rent, by still nearly half the price of renting out Road Atlanta.

Glad to see more and more track interest. Glad you were able to get out to the track again Sharif. Now if only I could find the budget to get out to compete in the east coast Time Attacks........(working on it)

Sharif, what kind of temps were you seeing while on the track?(oil, coolant)
And what kind of cooling upgrades do you have?

Thanks

I have a Koyo 3 row rad, and a Stillen Oil cooler. I am not running an oil temp gauge, so can't comment. Coolant temps were higher than I like, but no signs of headlift or anything. I am thinking that my Darton sleeves are not the greatest, for those looking to track their cars in hot weather. Aluminum is a much better conductor of heat, and the cast iron sleeves are inhibiting heat transfer. Remember, that sleeves are designed to strength and to contain massive power....mostly for brief drag races...not for road racing. On the next block i do for my car, I will go unsleeved for sure. I credit the Evan's NPG, in keeping my engine safe for all those hot sessions.

What are the dimensions on the Stillen oil cooler? Or Cubic inches?
