So did he give you any good reason other than it wouldnt turn over?

Sorry, but that wouldn't be a good enough reason for me to believe a built motor was blown. Sounds more like an electrical, ecu, ignition, or fuel problem to me.

Don't just take his word on it. Find out what the root cause is before you do anything drastic.

True, guess I missed that statement. I'd take it to a Z specific shop like GTM before I made any decisions as well...

Sam gave me a little hope over the phone. it'll be towed over to GTM, sometime today and he'll give me a correct diagnose (however you spell it).

Did you check the oil prior to being told the motor was siezed? Do you remember if it ever overheated?

yes, I actually put a quart in, before I started driving. No over heating, no smoke or clicking noises, nothing..

actually after marin had the car, it was sold to a guy named val that i bought it from, He only had the car for about 3 weeks before it was sold to me and i later sold it to cannysage. that sucks man, i feel your pain, i dumped nearly 6k into that car when i first had it to get it running right. new fuel system, injectors, tuning, custom overflow...but in the end i had to sell. I really hope everything works out for you. if you need any information on the car, i can give you some phone numbers so that you can get things squared out. take care.

This is the same car that supposedly made 700whp on the APS TT kit and a JWT clutch/flywheel setup? Something never seemed quite right about that to me.

it's at GTM, and I guess it's the timing chain. sam did a compression test and it was low on couple of the cylinders. He says compression would be back to normal if I were to get the timing chain fixed. but he wants to take the engine apart and make sure there are no other damages, which makes sense. This will take a lot of money and I need couple of days to figure out what I'm going to do.

I'd have them fix the timing chain and see how it runs from there. No point in spending another couple grand rebuilding your motor at this point if it's not absolutely necessary.

So I'm guessing the chain broke, or what?

This is not the first time I have heard of this happening. I know a car that one of the guides for the timing chain break. Everyone thought the motor was toast. In the end the chain and the guides were replaced. Now the motor is running fine at 505 rwhp. Good luck with the motor.

yeah it broke. motor seemed fine to me,when the problem occurred - no smoke, knocking, overheating or anything.

Defiantly get the chain fixed. Then check compression again. Then go from there.

those prior owners must have put some major abuse on that motor... timing chains are usually indescrtuable and will last the car's whole lifetime... which is why nissan switched to timing chains as oppose to timing belts
