Am I thinking correctly?
I know I want to SC or TT my Z but I am waiting until all of those most of those products come out before committing to one of them. I have a desire to start buying things like exhaust or even ECU's but my fear is buying them and later finding out these mods need to be modified to the SC ot TT to get maximum gains.
My question is am I thinking correctly? What mods can I do now in performance that are worthy of the cost that will not be regreted later if i go SC or TT? I know many of you have experience in Modding so i hope your advise will help me.

My guess is it will probably be a while before something from Nismo will be covered under warranty. You can always go ahead with whatever you want and sell it used later--that way you can still have fun modding the car.

I am not saying I will only use NISMO SC or TT. I am just going to give them until October to be specific if they are going to release a product or not. If I have to, i can go with the ATI SC or Greddy. What I am wondering is if there is any mods in performnace I can do now that I will not regret with any SC or TT set up later? For example, some people have said a TT needs a bigger diameter exhaust to breathe properly. I would hate to spend $1000 on one and then find it needs to be replaced again when the SC/TT is installed.

I would say just do suspension. I am holding off on power mods until the FI kits are released. More exhaust options will be out then too. Light flywheel and clutch would be something, but I would hold off until more options are available w/ positive reviews on fitment, etc.. Yes, the waiting blows Actually I'm even holding off on suspension to see the cost of the S-tune kit when NISMO is sold here. It will be all worth it

We are on the same line of thought because i am planning on going NISMO suspension myself first before anything else. I agree, I am ready to go FI but nothing worth doing yet. I want more hp but for now I will change handling first...

It seems like anything u do will be a waste if u plan to go forced induction in the future. If u get an intake, that will be replaced too with a kit. Headers are a waste unless u go supercharged. Im thinking about buying the Injen or Borla catback exhaust, but those are designed with the right amount of backpressure for our NA configuration. I guess it's best to wait

tires, rims, suspension, support, clutch, if your going custom you could go ahead and strengthen the internals of the engine depending on what you plan for. just stay away from headers and intake, and you could possibly want to hold off on exhaust, never know... what if the turbo manifold somehow changes the position of the exit, and the exhaust doesnt bolt up... probably wont be a problem, but its possible. not to mention, exhaust at this point is doesnt really net much hp, so why rush.

Waiting but wishing I did not have to wait
What you guys are saying just reinforces what I was thinking in that until I decide which FI system I select, most HP mods are premature. It sounds like you almost have to select FI system and everything else together to get it properly tuned with the ECU mod or you start retuning it everytime you change something.
I have never done this before personally. How long does it typically take to get all the aftermarket products going on a new car? I guess it is easy if you own a 350 Chevy V8 but since this VQ 35 is new and ECU is new, it seems to be delaying the real heavy mods a bit.

This is kind of a question and an answer. I don't think the intake plenum would change on an FI setup, but I'm not sure. The guys who are developing one on here have shown pretty good gains with theirs. Just a thought if you needed an hp fix now.
