Default bypass throttle body?

has anyone seen hp from bypassing the coolant lines that heat the throttle?it's pretty standard fare on the domestic side and was wondering if any before and after has been done?

Yes. There's a kit from motordyne engineering (motordyneengineering.com) for a plenum spacer that includes a valve for the coolant line going to the TB. You can shut it off in the summer and open it in the winter. I'm not sure how much of an overall gain you'd see though.

No need to mess with a valve unless you live somewhere that gets below about 25 degrees in the winter. Here in Vegas, I was able to bypass mine with a $1 double barb fitting.

+1 it was only designed for sub-arctic conditions to pevent throttle frosting ,but i was curios if any gains were available buy removing heat from the throttle.(everyone is doing it......but does it matter?)

Mine is bypassed but I'm not sure if it increases power. I also live in a sub-artic climate (called Ohio). I leave it bypassed year round with no problems, but then again I don't drive the car much in the winter time.

If nothing else, it makes removing the plenum much, much easier.
