last i heard about a week ago he IMed me about his car being in the shop in SD. i know he dealt with vrt so i assumed that "the shop" = "vrt"
i truly, truly hope this isn't the case, but i fear it is, as some of the lax meet guys have chimed in and said he mentioned it at last week's meet.

and also the SCC Z.

As to what is being done to the cars, I can't say, only the owners can, though the SCC car clearly has had its engine pulled.
Thats gay! I actually met this guy @ the track @ California Speedway last weekend. They came in with a trailer with Go VRT across the trailer. I saw that white G35 thats on the rack in the pictures. I thought the guy was Eagle1 but he said his name was Mike. He seemed cool in person but I would definitely not do business with him.

The BAR licence is only valid if your place of operation is zoned for Auto repair.A house is not.
Anyone who has a home based businesses in San Diego County is not allowed to run auto repair facilities. They are not allowed to park cars on the premises. They are now allowed to post any advertsing or marketing propaganda. They are not allowed to handled EPA controlled materials like oil, coolant, solvent, brake cleaner,etc........There is a list of things you CANNOT do in a home based business and Miguel is breaking all the rules! I will find the rules on the net and post them here.I know about all of these rules because I started SFR started out of my garage 10 years ago.
The house comment was from one of his employees. The fact is that I dont not or care to know Mikes personal dealings so I will apoligize for saying something that might not be true.

Agricultural is not zoned as commercial and therefore it is illegal to operate an auto repair facility. Sorry to inform you. And my buddy is a top dog real estate agent in San Diego and he is doing some research.

They weren't ex-employees when I was infomred of this. There was also another one of his guys that had told me the same thing. He was wanting a job from us but still working for Miguel at the same time. I thought it was a little fishy so we didnt want any part of that whole mess.Let me find his name in my notes and you probably know who he is.
I sure wish SCC would have made a better comment then just that. Hopefully they did read through everything and are getting there car out of there ASAP.
Tim you'll have to follow up for updates, hahaha.

Nice work Tim, VRT's reputation extends all the way down here to Dallas, we had a car that was pulled from our dealership and sent to VRT, what a mistake. Mike needs to find a new occupation, maybe liar....I mean lawyer.

Second off, Regardless of how VRT practices business, they are a PAYING SPONSOR HERE, you are NOT and cant afford to do so..So before you Flame , step back and question your own motives.FYI This is completely on topic, since you chose to bash a shop for their ethics.

SCC readers know that the SCC 350z is getting a built motor and a JWT TT kit because after 100k supercharged miles, the motor was starting to burn oil and run rather poorly. I knew those guys were cheap but its a shame they picked VRT to build their car.

I indeed did. Very nice write up. Now come review Road Atlanta so I can relate.
Ed....is this your car being worked on at the high tech VRT shop? (posted pic of white G on lift in carport)
"That is my car indeed.
It is being prepped for the Ultimate Street Car Challenge sponsored by Sport Compact Car Magazine, which begins this coming Monday.
The car will not do too terribly wonderful in the judging when it comes to stereos and luxury aftermarket interior stuff.
But I am hoping that on the performance side it will do credit to our community.
I have the 24 way adjustable coilovers and BBK from VRT on there, and we were doing some tuning of the set up this past weekend at Cal Speedway. She turned a 1:13 LAP on the infield course, and there is at least two seconds more in there with just a couple of tweaks, and it was done on Nitto tires...........so she is FAST! Putting down some prodigious power courtesy of some custom tuning from Jim Wolf and Clark Steppler on a pair of custom modified Garret GT-30 turbo units. For the road racing segment we decided to get a real driver........so Tanner Faust is going to pilot the car. That ought to be good for a fistful of seconds over anything that I can do. And if this is competition, well then I need to be realistic and help the team win by climbing out for this one.
