Her car, her problem. If you have to help to replace, sounds like she's living above her means. Buy a civic.

Well if you try to warranty, make sure all the codes are erased and the info about the revs is erased. s2k is known to have people trying to claim warranty when they have overreved the motor.

Your a sucker if you do this. Being with somebody 3 years doesnt obligate you to do anything! +100 on have her buy a beater and fix or sell her car. No a$$ is worth that.

an S2K motor can't cost 23k anyways. Go to a junk yard or something. I've seen those motors for like 2-3k and would cost a 500 to install it. Don't sell your car because your girl forgot to go into 4th.

s2k motor with 21k miles 2005 model. Everything you need to replace the one she blew up.

****, there's a shop doing full turbo 2JZ swaps on S2K's for $15k. That's including labor and everything.

It can't be THAT expensive.

Still, she shouldnt expect you to buy anything. I'm guessing this chick is fairly young (under 21), attractive, irresponsible, and thinks that you owe her everything because she's with you. I know the type. I seem to attract them like flies.

It sounds like you're tired of your Z and looking for a reason to move on.

unf king believable. Dude did you tell her u were going to do this? And what did she say? If the S2K was here dream, surely she understand the connection a person can have with their cars. I don't really think she would condone this approach if she did. I guess she might be living beyond her means if she can't fix the car. But WHY, WHY does the Z have to be held resonsible? I have 2 solutions for u:

1)-Tell her that your Z was stolen & hide it
2)-Tell her u think your car might be having problems of it's own

Good luck on this man, poor Z

A few years back, when the cubs made the playoffs (bartman year). My girlfriend needed help on an exam. I lied my *** off (told-her I was sick)because I was not going to miss MY CUBS moment! You know what? she did poorly on her exam & u know what else? She's history. Guess I made the right call! After being with her for 5 years & thinking she was the one SHE WASN'T. Tough Chit, it happens but with all that said I witnessed my cubby moment & I drive Z. FTW!

I agree 100%. Tell her to store the S2K, and get a beater for $500 while she saves up. I find it extremely selfish on her part to allow you to do this for her. Tell her to SUCK IT UP!

This guy is worst off than the other guy on another thread, in which his girlfriend bought a 350Z & he wants to add mods to it. Well at least he can use her for the car & have an excuse to be with her.

Craig, are you serious? If its a spun bearing, and an otherwise intact engine, this would cost very little to rebuild with OEM parts and get her back on the road.
