I'm recieving my full Vortech kit soon and was thinking of tunning the car using Apexi AFC neo. My car has Nismo cams, SSV, res test pipes, DC headers and Apexi WS catback along with the fuji T-pipe.

What do you think guys? I'll be going 3.12 pully soon

 

please dont use any afc please...our ecu's override all settings...not nearly enough capabilities to tune a aftermarket FI car...

 

you just have to install the split second R4 software in your plug it to the split second box that is coming with the complet Vortech kit... and tune it... on a dyno...

but, DO NOT READ in your split second box... only WRITE !!! ALWAYS !!!

So, by that do you mean to connect the afc to the R4?

 

No he means. Use the r4 not the neo. There is no reason to run the neo with the kit. The split second box does everything the neo will do and then some.

 

I see.... now I get it And saved another $300 spent on the neo

So, what do I need in addition of what comes with the kit to get it tuned? (i.e. software, laptop cable...etc)

 

oups ! yeah, I mean the R4 software in your laptop...

 

software, laptop and a 9 pin connector to run from the ss box to the laptop. If your laptop doesn't have the 9 pin connector you will need a serial adaptor cable. They can be picked up on ebay or your local radioshack(if you have one).

 

Dont use the USB/9 pin adaptor from RadioShack....they dont work . Get one from Best Buy or some other place . You need to know a few things about the R4 software before you start trying to tune it . When you upload the maps off the SS box , settings change . Unless you know which to change back the car will not run right and you may end up hurting the motor
