experimental offer for a twin turbo on a 2007 Z
Ok, I was bored and went to couple of performance shops yesterday just to see if any of them has heard anything about turbocharging a 2007 Z. Well, nobody knew anything, but today i had a call from one of the shops. The guy I spoke to yesterday said that he wanted to look at something, so i went there. However, he called me today (late afternoon) and asked me if i could drop my car for several days, so they could "EXPERIMENT" with the APS twin turbo kit on my vehicle. What they want to do is: install it, and and use an intercooler kit for 300ZX TT that will match perfectly the 2007 twin intake. So my question is, that seems possible , is it really. I would get 30% off form the final price, and they "Promise" that this project will be perfect and will work great , well i am suppose to think about it, so what about you guys , what is your opinion?
i'd say document everything..
if they 'guarantee' that everything will 'fit perfect', make sure you get it down on paper with signatures
if things start to blow up, they shouldn't be able to shift the responsibility
30% off a custom turbo setup sounds like a good deal...but just be cautious!

sounds like a good deal, but i would pass. this is a car you will probably own for a while, and you dont want people experimenting on things that "might" work on it. just spend the money on rims, suspension, bodykit, or whatever else until a tuning company comes out with a kit.
it is a small shop near Tacoma WA , and they are kinda new, so is their shop , I've heard that VQ engines require experience, and VQ35HR is new so, yeah i will pass, thanks for the replies guys

Kits for the 07 HR should be out by years end, and on display at SEMA in Oct from Greddy.
Custom work is always labor intensive, so even with a 30% discount, you are going to pay a lot more than waiting for a bolt on it.

In tacoma? I havn't heard anyone in the area worthwhile.
I drove down to GTM in cali...wasn't going to risk shops that don't routinely work on the VQ.
