Default experimental offer for a twin turbo on a 2007 Z

Ok, I was bored and went to couple of performance shops yesterday just to see if any of them has heard anything about turbocharging a 2007 Z. Well, nobody knew anything, but today i had a call from one of the shops. The guy I spoke to yesterday said that he wanted to look at something, so i went there. However, he called me today (late afternoon) and asked me if i could drop my car for several days, so they could "EXPERIMENT" with the APS twin turbo kit on my vehicle. What they want to do is: install it, and and use an intercooler kit for 300ZX TT that will match perfectly the 2007 twin intake. So my question is, that seems possible , is it really. I would get 30% off form the final price, and they "Promise" that this project will be perfect and will work great , well i am suppose to think about it, so what about you guys , what is your opinion?

Unless they have alot of experience in custom projects and you have seen their work I'd save the R&D to the kit manufacturers. If they do good work, give it a shot.

i'd say document everything..

if they 'guarantee' that everything will 'fit perfect', make sure you get it down on paper with signatures

if things start to blow up, they shouldn't be able to shift the responsibility

30% off a custom turbo setup sounds like a good deal...but just be cautious!

sounds like a good deal, but i would pass. this is a car you will probably own for a while, and you dont want people experimenting on things that "might" work on it. just spend the money on rims, suspension, bodykit, or whatever else until a tuning company comes out with a kit.

A new shop would scare me away from them right off the bat . I would want only a established shop with a good reputation working on my car . Unless the guy who is starting up the shop is coming from another well established shop . And any GOOD shop can work on a VQ motor . Nothing special about it .

Kits for the 07 HR should be out by years end, and on display at SEMA in Oct from Greddy.

Custom work is always labor intensive, so even with a 30% discount, you are going to pay a lot more than waiting for a bolt on it.

Well ****...if thats the case I am half tempted to stop my witch hunt for a nice used Z that hasn't been ragged and just order an 07 and be done with it.

In tacoma? I havn't heard anyone in the area worthwhile.
I drove down to GTM in cali...wasn't going to risk shops that don't routinely work on the VQ.

Any good performance shop that does any make of car can easily build a VQ motor . If they are good......there good . It doesnt take a specialty shop...doesnt hurt for sure though .
