Kenk2 japtrix use to be a sponser on here a while ago. I don't understand how mario is a hater, please explain. Is it that he mentioned that there are other vpro tuners besides sharif and julian and others ( no disrespect to either of them ). Save the drama for there threads. Maybe your the hater???????

I am just trying to learn about this product by asking people who are in the know. That's it. I obviously don't know how many HKS Certified dealers/tuners are in existence in the country, I just like to know my options.
Thank you all for the feedback thus far. It has helped me tremendously. I will be banking some money to try to get a VPRO, but it will have to wait a bit.

+1

By the time you purchase a Utec pay for installation and tuning you will be close to that price anyway.

That was what I found and the main reason I went with the iS.

UNLESS, the end user tunes the car themselves.. That is the only reason I haven't taken the plunge on the V-Pro. George, talk to someone over at HKS and see if they will make something end-user tunable

Mario, I apologize to go off topic..

So for sure the V-Pro doesn't offer the same video out feature as the iS? Is this true George or Westpak?

Not off topic at all. I know the inability for end users to tune the HKS products is kind of pain. It didn't effect me personally because I don't feel I have the skills yet to tune properly and safely. I have to say though from what I've seen and experienced with both the V-Pro and the iS, they are very impressive units. We just need a Techie around here to write a crack for the software

Does HKS still offer the CAMP system? That would allow for the display that everyone is asking about w/ the VPro if I remember right.

Is the navigator still neccessary w/ IS?

No its not needed and with that video out option, you can monitor the items you feel are important anyways. I believe the thinking is if you have that high end FI built block and your going to invest in the V-Pro, then adding the navigator isn't as big of a deal in the grand scheme. They probably felt people who bought the iS wouldn't want to spend more money for the navigator where the V-Pro folks wouldn't be worried as much about that added expense?

FYI, the video output has three pages you can flip thru, with a total 18 different readings (6 per page). IMO, I dont see a need for the Navigator, (or even a freaking cluster of gauges), but you would need the sensors, though.

You are correct, I am assuming this is for a typical customer that has no intention to install or tune the hardware themselves.

Hows the car doing Ken?

You are correct, BUT the Navigator will allow you to switch sub maps on the fly
