I have been recieving a bit of PM's as how these things compare to the greddy TT. Its hard to compare when everyone is running diffrent boost and claim diffrent hp #'s from diffrent dynoes. Many folks here are all hard up on numbers, but dont realy understand the power curve and just look for numbers. On the track it a no issue, but oon the street it a whole other game.

So just for you 350Z forum members, ALBERTO and myself are going to break it down as even as it can get. We were lucky to get hooked up by a freind at work to use and airfield for 20min for the test. Dont ask where!

Alberto's car and my car are twin when it comes down to power as we both have 480-490@low and 534-541high same PSI levels, both tunes by Sharif and both tuned on the same dyno. Cars look the same and probably weigh the same, all function no plastic part to slow you down or add weight, same wheels ect... The only diffrence is the 3.3final, and my bigger turbos. Untill I resolve the fuel issue, I am stuck @ 20psi on race, and thats where these things feel like they are comming alive.

It's not really fair as a turbo comparo because a smaller turbo will have the advantage as you move down the psi ladder. The turbos are not *that* different I guess but you are normalizing for power, so it comes down to driver, shifting etc.

To really do a good comparo, I'd think you would want to use max efficiency psi for each turbo, which I think is 18 psi for the Greddy and what 20 or 22 psi for yours? You can't do that w/o more fuel (or a W/M kit) and I don't think Alberto is tuned for 18 so now way to do this

Alberto, no cheating with the brake booster - to make it fair you should give that to Eagle

TSG-this i shappening in MD, I am filming with some buddies, we'd like to keep the cars to a minimum, thanks for the offer though.

rcdash-we are comparing pump gas powerbands, because while Luie's car is a monster no doubt-95% of the time he will be on pump gas so he wants to compare the "street" powerbands. Id be more than happy to retune at higher boost and if all goes as planned I'll have that for our Sept 21st track day and we will have round 2 when he drives back up.

This will be fun, Id like to do both non brake boosting and brake boosting races just to see what would happen-Im giving him everything I got as if he would pull up next to me on the "airstrip" without me knowing what he had Pics, vids, stories to come.....

 

That makes sense Alberto - pump gas showdown it is. If the airstrip is long enough a rolling race to top speed would be awesome. Go for it guys and be safe.

I am getting more confident on this set up. I just raced my buddies Honda 954 from a 3rd roll and put 3 cars by the end of forth and pulled on him hard in 5th. I think my 5th is the "Destroyer gear" This is with mid boost.

I wonder how I would do against a Busa with my race gas!

So what are the odds looking like? LOL-Luie I cant wait man, I cant see your speedo that well but how long does it take you to go from 50 or above to 159mph? I tried comparing to my vid side by side and it looked damn close...problem with my vid was I started low in 3rd @ 50mph but spun to 80mph.

What was the temp when you did the videos? I am thinking with the weather being so hot, its the reason I am hooking 3rd.

It was cold enough for me to spin 3rd from 50mph, Id say 50 degrees or colder...even in 100 degree heat with 285's and -1 rear camber gets me wheel spin in 2nd gear WOT (low boost), but I can peddle it
