Default Disappointing 1/4 mile time

RANT: Rant :

(STREET TIRES)

I'm unhappy about my 1/4 runs today

i ran my new set up for the first time at MIR today.. just wanted to ask if my results were decent for having street tires

493rwhp- 495 tq
power enterprise
conservative tune @15psi

1st run
R.T- .334
60'- 2.355
330 - 5.849
1/8- 8.530
mph - 89.92
1000 - 10.809
1/4 12.717
mph 118.13

2nd run
R.T- .472
60' 2.455
330- 599.6
1/8- 8.655
mph 92.90
1000 - 10.937
1/4 - 12.830
mph 116.80

I only got to run twice so far.... I had horrible take offs. ... (in 1st gear-- after take off- rpms dropped to 2k)

I know it needs improvement, but i wish i can practice more than 3 runs for $30..(Test and Tune)

What do you guys think it could run on slicks?

I know i'm pretty bad at launching, but how much room (time) for improvement you think?

yeah, those 60 ft times are really bad. Just need to work on it. You will be in the low 12's. Try some DR instead of slicks see if it makes any difference.

kinda sucks today, nothing but domestics.. and was there for 5 hours only being able to run twice.

Geez, IT IS SO MUCH MORE DIFFERENT ON THE STREET...I think i prefer things from a roll..
Well, thats what i get for being an amature dragster (its only my 3rd time at the track)

You easly have the mph for a high 11's. All I can say is practice those 60ft after you get that down, focus on your shifting. You'll get there. Its a lot harder than it seems.

your 60ft times are horrible even for street tires. i wouldnt worry about slicks until you can pull some decent 60's with streets.

Default I can't drive~~~

i know i messed up both times. .... its so hard to go easy on 1st and second gear .. at the same time trying to go as fast as i can..

my brain tells me to stay off 1st gear- but my foot is always trying to floor it. lol!

my last set up (TN) i had luckily had a 60'foot of 1.76 on street tires that didn't match.. (maybe beginners luck)

Even if he gets a perfect 60', he will at most be at high 11s... with 493rwhp- 495 tq I think it should deft. be in low 11s. He ran 12.777 with a 2.335 60', if he gets let say 1.5-1.6 60' which is pretty darn good and hard, then that's about .8 faster and that should make the 1/4 to about 11.9, I just think that just dose not add up.

How was the weather conditions?? Hot? Humid?

Good Luck

You 60' times are bad. Were you bouncing down the track when you jumped on it? Even I ran better 60' times than you with an N/A roadster. You need to work on your launch.

118 is good for a stock block... 120 is better.

Gs are heavier, should be a high 11 second car though with better traction

It doesn't work that way. He's modulating the throttle to prevent wheelspin. If he can get traction, then he's gonna get a whole lot faster. Look at how fast he complete's the 2nd 1/8 mile...

As an aside, it's awesome you guys are meeting on the 21st and renting out the track. Wish I could join y'all - maybe next time.
