My car weighs 3680 with me in it, no gutted Jeremy Tibbs shell car with skinnies..Its a REAL street car..
So it is gutted.

Is there any "official" definition of a "street car"?

If you call removing some plastic panels to make room for a roll cage, that weighs more than the pieces you remove, gutted, then Yes..I guess it is gutted. Lord knows those plastic side pillars will make or break the race.

You were the one that said it was 80% gutted then said it wasn't.

It might weigh more with the cage, but I don't think I'd consider any full cage car a street car regardless of weight.

Oh and sorry, hard to understand you with all the 's.

I hope this doesn't degenerate into another ugly debate.

Keep it fun.

Lol... I'm surprised you haven't seen some by now!

As far as a debate, I was just asking a question. I'd probably get flamed in this thread for saying "I like log".

Everybody has a different definition for a "street car."

My opinion, car should have all of its panels forward of drivers seat, a few out in the back is ok-especially for a roll bar/cage. Should have radio, A/C, 2 seats, doorr panels, things youd expect in a street car. Id consider my car a street car-in race trim all I do is swap rear wheels/tires thats it. I dont want to turn this into a debate, but Jeremy's car IMO allgutted, weighing "only" 2800lbs-considerably less than stock car, with a different tranny, fuel cell, etc, wasnt a street car. It was a race car for the street

I agree for the most part. I don't consider a full roll cage something I'd find on a street car. Maybe a roll/harness bar...

But yeah, everyone will say different (depending on what they own).

I have never been much into drag racing, but all this talk about drag racing lately has made me more and more interested. Although I know it would take some time to become a decent driver. Also I wish their were better axle choices for us out there, don't know how much abuse my axles can take with over 700lbs of RWTQ

Keep us posted guys, Have fun and be SAFE!

P.S. My car will be one heavy pig with full audio, partial Cage, etc. (no full cage for me, so I can be a "street car" )

Then we are the same, caus ethe only 2 panels I cant fit in is the side panes from the roll bar hoop back, they simply wont fit if you look at how close we tucked the cage to the frame.

I have a 5 point roll bar, Where in your readings did you see a full 8 point NHRA cage? My car, by definition and usage is a full street car.

I made that assumption based on the above reference to a cage. Thanks for explaining, though.

Like Albeto said, we all have different ideas of what a street car is. I think a better reference is if a car is "full weight" or "full interior".
