seriously though people, haven't any of you figured out yet this guy will not be happy until he destroys his own car?

He has been told how many times to take it somewhere to have HIS install checked out and to have a PROFESSIONAL tune his car (not his friend and his lap top).

sorry to be blunt man, but you are either really cheap (which means you shouldn't be playing with FI) or you have ADD

Cheap and ADD thanks.

I would love to take it to a tuner, there are none that I know of in the seattle area. GTM is out of reach at the moment I dont have time to go down there. Im not sure perhaps you are add and have not seen me say that 25 times.

Take it to Carb Conn then at least. They've done a few APS TT Z's.

Or go to Ill Tech in Tacoma. They have lots of experience with the UTEC.

You should've just called me when I gave you my number like 2 months ago and avoided all these issues. I know many good tuners up here but you never asked me about any of this so . . . .

now that I have plugged the vaccum tube in, it should have richened up correct? That makes no sense.. Under boost I am at 13:1 now at best.

i fully agree, thats why i was poking at the amount of threads he has had with bad luck, take it to someone who knows whats going on...

but, you can not attach the vacuum line and turn the fuel pressure to whatever you would like and tune it. say 60psi or 54 psi but cold starts will be difficult...

With an FPR, the vaccum line should be attached whilst tuning. Otherwise, your 51psi of fuel pressure, is actually 41psi of fuel pressure, when it's pushing against 10psi of boost pressure. This is basic science...the engine is one big air pump, and you have to understand how pressure differentials work across all of the working surfaces, or you will be chasing your tail with tuning.

One thing that is odd, is that you are leaning out when you attached the line. That makes no sense. If he tuned the car without the vaccum reference, then when you apply the reference, your engine should richen significantly.

I didn't learn that lesson until my local tuner blew up my stock motor on the dyno right after my TT install.

my bad for not clearly knowing the crap work the shop was doing. so unless nobody else worth doing the work is closer then gtm woudl prob be your closest place.

I will probably end up taking it to driftoffice down south of seattle to have my install doublechecked, they know their stuff, and have good cred with the nissan guys around here.

www.illtechauto.com

They recently just built a 1000+ whp Supra tuned with the AEM Stand Alone. They also have a full carbon-fiber widebody NSX as one of the shop cars.

Go rent a car and have your car trailered to a real shop and get it fixed. You'll save more money doing that than you will spend having to buy a new motor/rebuild.

spoke with the tuner, turns out he tuned it with the FPR at 51psi WITH the vaccum line in. Changed it to that and the car is in the sub 11.5:1 AFR @ boost again. No counts of knock detected so far.

Wow, like almost a post every week with your problems.

Honestly, I don't understand why you havn't made the time or whatever you need to get your car to a professional.
I'm all about doing my own work, but there's one thing I didn't want to mess with and that's fuel and tune. All it takes is a minor mistake and there's no going back and re-tightening a loose bolt or something....it's a whole new motor.

I'm suprised your actually getting people responding with help after all your other threads....

Ill Tech tunes on site.

You may also want to look into upgrading to an AEM Stand Alone. They've been wanting to tune a TT 350Z forever now . . (eh, VQ35 I should say).
