Default Some TN problems, help plz.

I was backing out of the pump at a gas station, and ripped the v band clamp off. I was just curious if I might have ripped the down pipe off of the turbo or cracked a weld or anything of that sort. Maybe cracked a weld on the dump tube for the wastegate?? Its Sunday night so I figured I wouldnt call my tuner He has enough work to do. Any input would help. I appriciate it guys!!

I did this once as well. JT hooked me up with a new clamp, no problems. Although looking back that may have caused one of the bracket welds on the up-pipe to break off causing a pre-turbo exhaust leak. Replaced it, no problems since.

Agreed you may have damaged one of the welds but hopefully its ok. Replace the Vband clamp for now and see what happens.

man, get a new v band overnighted to you from TN, just tell them what it is, this is a common problem for you guys with slammed cars!! (my car is slammed to , just no low v bands)

its easy to throw on. just jack it up, put two jackstands, grab a 7/16th deep socket (11mm if you feel JDM) and back it off. throw on the new one and tighten it up!!

good luck man

i highly doubt you broke any welds on that one but everything is possible. hope your luck gets better with everything with your car, first the hood now this

additionally,

take a length of hose. stick one end in your ear, and use the other end as a probe to listen for air leaks. you'll be able to listen for leaks and cracks in the exhaust system.

Yea I hope its just the V band, I mean , it completely ripped the clamp off of te piping, not just bent it. Thats why I was curious if I had damaged anything else. Oh well I guess we'll see in a few days.
